Her sets blend styles like downtempo, electro, break, acid, and techno.

Dozal has been a house head, DJ, dance floor general, for as long as we’ve known each other (10+ yrs :O), with a deep appreciation for the genre’s roots, drawing inspiration from the golden era of the ’90s. His sets blend elements of acid house, electro, and other subgenres, creating a dynamic and dance floor-driven sound that keeps energy high and feet moving! A dedicated digger, Dozal has a sharp ear for unique and unexpected tracks, often uncovering hidden gems that add depth and surprise to his sets. It’s been a pleasure being friends all these years and to share this set as he launches his new endeavor under @mr.untz.tx

With Valencian roots and based in Madrid, her presence on the capital’s scene is becoming more and more frequent... she is Nurias! A digger you need to keep an eye on, and the new curator of DSSmix23.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?

I recorded it at home with a mixer and turntables. It was a laid-back, playful session—the perfect way to unwind after a long day at the office. 

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

I just picked the records I felt like playing in that moment and hit record. I left a lot of room for improvisation, because that’s what really reflects who I am. It feels way more natural and fresh that way— including fresh mistakes too haha.

As for genres, I go more by energy than by styles, so the mix came out just like I was feeling: a bit of light, a bit of tension...

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

I'm not exactly sure where music will take me next, but my head's always buzzing with ideas. The one that's closest—and the one I'm most excited about—is starting my own label. It’s something I know I’ll make happen in 2026.

4. Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

DSS isn't about music genres; it's about dancing without overthinking, moving freely, and celebrating rhythm in all its forms. That's what one of his collabotor explained to me about DSS the first time we met, and it stuck with me. DSS is also a team with a true purpose, a deep love for music, and a genuine interest in the scene.

I had the pleasure to work with my friend Bart Wirtz on the saxophone and Samir Saif on trumpet to give these tracks a real jazz feel. All the drums are played on my jazz kit. For these tracks I was really inspired by the legend of jazz house music, St. Germain."
