Back for the fourth edition of DSS mix, we are very excited to present a living legend of the South-American Progressive House sound, Eduardo Javith better known as JAVITH (also DJ Yayo & Don Nadie), originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela and currently based in South Florida. 
Eduardo is considered one of the most important pioneers of the electronic-dance scene in Venezuela since the first days of it. 
From the late 90s until today, his works have been recognized by many top names of the global dance scene such as: Peter Rauhoffer, Bob Sinclair, Victor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, JIM KERR (Simple Minds), Offer Nissim, among others. He has managed to appear in publications and mixes with names like: Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Pet Shop Boys, Oscar G, George Acosta, Saeed & Palash and more.

But for us at DSS it is very important to emphasize that from 1998 to 2006 he was Director of the first radio show that existed in his hometown dedicated 100% to the electronic-dance sounds at a public FM radio station. And where he has been a key player in the birth of a whole musical movement in that region. A place where the members of this crew were born and were primarily influenced by his works.

It is a great pleasure for us to have and publish these almost two hours of an artist who contributed a lot to our scene and who is somehow in our DNA.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?
 
It was recorded at home, in my garage (12" only) using 2 Technics SL-1300MK2, 2 Stanton D6800 HP Cartridges and 1 Pioneer XDJ-XZ Controller (as mixer only)

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

I have always liked Dark sounds, the fusion between Deep and Progressive (influenced by producers like Tenaglia, Peace Division, Chab, etc) and that is what I tried to capture in this session, using my selection from the early 2000s.
 

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

Since I moved from Venezuela to Miami in 2016, I wanted to set up my home studio just like I had in my hometown and now that I've achieved it, I'm going to reactivate myself to produce and remix with my roots sounds. This is what I want to do now. 


4. Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

I think it's an alternative to show those underground sounds that are not usually present in many current productions, but that invite you to dance and enjoy intuitively, regardless of entering the unknown.
