Brass Tax had our own stage at BOC this year, tucked away from the fray up in a corner, and we couldn't have been happier with seeing all the beautiful (masked) faces who came by to say hello! In addition to being my first public appearance since NYD 2020, this is one of my favorite sets I've ever played, full of funky, soulful house, midtempo breaks, and groovy rolling basslines. We didn't get a recording at the festival, so I decided to recreate it live from Bowerbird. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

New Years Day 2022

Inspired to connect by the post-lockdown parties and a decidedly un-chill 2020 and 2021 Deckard is back with My Definition of Chill - After Party. After an all day Breakfast of Champions a group of us made the trek to a friend's house for a more intimate gathering. Walking through the door, seeing friends still dressed up and glamorous, if not a little worse for wear, drinks being poured, glitter everywhere... not ready to put a stop to it yet. The Sunday Morning Service

Traveling to DJ over new years in Brazil was an amazing experience. Missing Breakfast of Champions and not being around my close loved ones was not the easiest call to make. I'm so thankful to have met so many very fun and awesome people even though I could barely speak a word of Portuguese. A big thank you to Ricardo and Fred from the Peninsula Beach Club Hotel booking me as their resident DJ. This week's RIPEcast is a special double header. We will be bringing you not one but TWO mixes from our very own @dj-deckard in celebration of his 50th birthday.

"A celebration of chill songs I love mixed in an extended set. This is also my 20th year DJing. I don't wish to get on a soapbox but I do believe in the power of music to unite and provide an outlet for these crazy times. About DJ Deckard:
Born and bred in Washington, Keith Harris (a.k.a. Deckard) starting DJ-ing in 2000, at venues and clubs in Seattle and Canada. He moved to San Francisco in 2005 where his skills and talent evolved and became even more prolific, garnering interest and accolade and earning him a spot in the underground music scene.

Deckard made his big splash as a member of Coda in 2006 at Burning Man. Soon after he joined forces with the Space Cowboys whose parties are legendary in San Francisco and Burning Man and whose Ripecast podcast was nominated for Best Podcast of the Year by Breakspoll for 2013.

Mixing together a blend of music selection including, but certainly not limited to breakbeat, nu funk, and house, Deckard keeps crowds on their feet and moving backed by his unique sound and ability to mix genres whether it be playing a sunrise set at Breakfast of Champions or closing down the main room in front of a packed warehouse.

Deckard has performed in a variety of venues on the west coast and Canada with DJs such as Jondi & Spesh, Uberzone, Lee Coombs, Plump DJs, Dylan Rhymes, Meat Katie, Elite Force/Simon Shackleton, Worthy and more.

To his fans, Dances With Goats needs no introduction. To most people, Dances With Goats is this guy named Adam Dornbusch. He lives in Los Angeles and talks about music while other people talk about sports and stuff. Anyway he’s real good and plays a lot of diverse styles. Like all nostalgic, but sometimes downtempo and psychedelic and sometimes uptempo and disco-y. You should check him out.
