Phats and Small consists of two experienced DJ's from Brighton, England: Jason Phats and Russel Small. Phats and Small are of course well known for their huge hit Turn Around that achieved the number 2 position on the UK charts in early 1999.

Phats and Small both worked as DJ's at Brighton's famous Zap Club in the early 90's. Phats started producing his own music in 1992 and set up a label called Afro Cuts, releasing disco house tracks before he started collaborating with Small.

Phats and Small have remixed, among others, for Simply Red, Earth Wind & Fire and the Lighthouse Family, as well as countless of their own underground releases and bootlegs. They are also well known for caning it with the best of them, frequently while behind the decks.

Churning out a steady stream of his unique and dirty sounding tracks, the Rene Amesz sound has been destroying speakers all over the world and it looks like now, it is coming into its own at the opportune time. Maybe Rene’s Rotterdam (The Netherlands) background had something to do with his work ethic. People from Rotterdam are generally known for their ‘get on with it attitude” get yourself together and work hard to get out there!

Tiger Rose started as Alice Rose, an inspiring Danish musical phenomenon who turned over to techno.  A female dj and producer from Denmark now residing in Cologne, Germany.  Tiger Rose’s first debut was “Food for Dreams”, which was released on the label Basmati. Receiving dj support from Gabriel Ananda, Raresh, Dominik Eulberg, Marco Carola, M.A.N.D.Y. and many more. She is carving her way into the Techno scene with the potential to inspire Techno and Dance music fans alike.

This incredible trip of an exclusive podcast packed with unreleased productions and edits illustrates clearly what remarkable talent Silat Beksi has got on both the DJ and production side! In the endless sea of producers and selectors, only a few leave a lasting impression. They are the niche artists, individuals that push sonic boundaries into new territory with skill, and purpose. Over the last 5 years Silat Beksi has made quite the impression on minimal music lovers across the globe by doing just that. Utilising his own unique combination of rhythms & special imprinted textures to craft emotive and energetically charged pieces of music. 

This was recognized early on with labels like Romaniaís Tzinah Records, Moscowís Body Parts and Ukranian imprint Mulen Records offering him a platform through which to release and refine his musical style. In 2014 this culminated in the release of Silat's first full length album, with ten wondrously diverse minimalist cuts seeing a digital release on Mulen. Having achieved this milestone, the talented producer dedicated himself to the perfection of his craft with a renewed determination, going vinyl only and launching his own imprint Modeight Records in 2016. Itís a label family that boasts some of the hottest new talent in minimal house and techno, giving rise to producers such as Germanyís Durrrred & Romanian young guns Dragutesku and RQZ. Their intuitive and forward thinking approach to minimalist music is creating sonic ripples throughout the global underground scene, challenging the existing boundaries of the genre once again.  

Fast forward to the present and Silat Beksi has amassed an enviable body of 12î releases on his journey so far. Cementing himself as one of the most inform talents in Europes underground scene with releases on labels like Germanyís almighty Pleasure Zone, Welsh imprint Dreams Are Not Inside, What You Want, Vivus Records and of course his own imprint Modeight. His sound continues to morph and develop, defying classification with it's heady combination of techno ís rhythmic sensibility, breakbeat influence and warm atmospheric textures that hypnotise and excite.
