Next in our DJ mix series is one of America’s most dedicated techno artists Kyle Geiger. Humility is not generally a quality that ranks high on the list of things for which an average techno DJ is known. Kyle Geiger isn’t your average DJ/producer. From his marathon sets at legendary clubs like Berghain to his pounding yet melodic productions, there are plenty of notable musical accomplishments on his resumè. When you scratch the surface though, what you find is a genuinely humble human with a true passion for techno and a love for DJing. The kind of grateful joy you find in those who come from small Midwestern towns in the U.S., and find themselves relocated to an area where techno is so widely consumed: decades of experience collecting and programming music for some of the toughest crowds to be finally rewarded with chances to play in venues that have carried the music to where it is today.

After having released on labels such as Drumcode and Perc Trax, in the past few years Kyle has been focusing on his DJ craft and establishing his name all over Germany. In 2017 we have some of the most exciting updates coming up! Not only did we have the chance to enjoy a stellar closing set by Kyle of the legendary Berghain in August, but soon we will have the pleasure of enjoying his new ‘’Drifter’’ EP, which is set to be released on Credo as well a contribution featured on the next VA compilation on the acclaimed Valence.
Kyle Geiger offers the full package - fantastic mixing, excellent taste, and a deep hypnotic sound. This winter he will bring one more thing to the table - the debut of his new house Moniker on John Osborn’s Dred Records. This will definitely mark a new beginning for Kyle and his fans, as it will allow him to explore different musical realms as a producer, and more freedom to release a wider range of music.

When talking about the top-representatives of Belgian underground culture, Iris Menza undoubtedly pops up on the major tier of the list.

Next to being a highly demanded and respected name in the Benelux, frequent appearances at Sankeys Ibiza and Sisyphos Berlin amongst others emphasize her bordercrossing success as a globe-trotting artist.

As Iris excels in bringing a refined hybrid of dub-tech, deep house and techno with an emotional undertone, she has been able to craft a sophisticated, yet recognizable sound through the years which she can undisputedly call her own. Release-wise, she landed her debut EP on Cachai Music, the renowned label of Daniel Sanchez and Andre Butano. 

In 2017, Iris joined forces with the FloorBookings agency for the exclusive Benelux area. As both parties strive to maintain and reinforce Iris' current high-ranked status in underground nightlife, they subsequently work on letting her reach even higher grounds in the near future.

Highlights from the past year for Iris are quite exciting. She played at the Ants stage at Tomorrowland festival, became a resident of the most renown club in Ghent, Kompass, had amazing gigs in Germany at Sisyphos in Berlin and Hell & Dunkel Festival in Düsseldorf, and finally an outstanding Ibiza season where she played the legendary Sankeys!

Einmusik Bio (English)
Einmusik´s music is not an industry secret, but still an undiscovered star in the growing universe of
electronic sounds. No straight line to follow, no seasonal sound - his cosmos is too big to dive
through it within an hour. Born in the late 70’s he was influenced by Depeche Mode, the sound of
Visage and Kraftwerk. Right after he slowly discovered the world of Drum and Bass and later
emotional techno material with the little extra. With “Jittery Heritage“ he started many moons ago to
create his own style, full of melodies and open soundscapes. A lot of releases and remixes on well
known imprints from all over the world followed and a lot of long nights in the clubs.
With “5 A.M“ he produced later an album between light and darkness to bundle the mood of
traveling and touring. The musical output went from earth to the universe, creating heart-breaking
moments and uplifting minutes. And the longplayer “I.D.C.“ followed - a statement against doing
statements. Einmusik is not the man of words and vocals. He is not the one telling you what is the
right sound for the right moment. But you will discover his anthems - they will reach you
unexpected.
His label Einmusika Recordings is a suburb for younger artists. The place where you can do your
first steps and grow without a rush. After 10 years it became as well his favourite place to be
independent and follow the inspiration without paradigms. In October the new longplayer
“Serenade“ will be released on the label. It will be another journey to unknown widths. Like a secret
garden, a wide open playground, an undiscovered world - make sure you’re ready to take off

Let music breathe in concrete jungle. Resonating his appreciation for dance music with bunch of music collection and environmental surroundings. 

Dripping groove with seamless long mixing of techno, house also chill out, ambient or experimental music. Response to dancefloor, smooth stripped down minimal groove could be built up with solid groovy house, or trippy hypnotic techno, even dreamy after hours sound. Control and release, dedication and experience, he moves dancefloor with wide range selection. 

Originally from south Japan, currently based in Hong Kong and taking music direction at Oma, a hidden small basement club in heart of the city. His passionate attitude for music, also resident party Junktion have connected with numbers of selective DJs and upcoming talents across the globe. Also himself travels small dancefloor to outdoor festival world widely. 2017 in summer, made a chance to show his soundscape at Berghain’s mainfloor in second EU tour.

DJ Mix #503: Taku Hirayama

Michele Pinna already known for his imprint The Triangle records, is the name behind this rough and crude figure, expressed through a language that finds its highest expression in an industrial distorted apocalyptic techno.

Browsing the Chronicles Diary's pages we could find the sound of the rusty machines and the uncoded synthesizers. The image evoked comes from a post apocalyptic black future. Time Traveler's makes his debut at various festivals, such as Amore Festival and in big room clubs headlining with names as Andrew Fletcher from Depeche Mode, performing live- and DJ- mixes.

His sound already attracted attention of such techno legends as Dave Clarke (@dac), Black Asteroid (@blackasteroid), Bas Mooy (@bas-mooy), Detroit Techno Militia (@detroittechnomilitia, Brian Sanhaji (@brian-sanhaji) and DJ Hyperactive (@dj-hyperactive), who did remixing work for his productions. Time Traveler surely stands strong on his grounds and continues to wreck dancefloors around the globe.

However, year 2014 changes everything for him, as Baron of Techno himself remixes one of his releases, pushing his career even further. Today, his tours go very international and his schedule get filled up fast - he is no stranger to European venues and events with South America becoming his usual routine for his gigs.

Each live performance gets Joop deeper into the sound, securing his position in techno premiership, each heavily-supported release helping him to find his own sound, his own ideology, his own technique. His own space.

Joop's music is one step closer to God, almost religious experience. He is not interested in trends. He does not believe in hype. To fully understand his sound, you just have to be there, in the moment.

David ‘Moraze’ Crops, developed a passion for music during his childhood in Paris and since then, has never looked back. His mother owned a dance school which exposed the young Parisian to the importance of music in mood and setting. Being classically trained at the Maurice Ravel school of music, the developed ear of Moraze relishes in exploring the intricate details of modern electronic music and the intersectional relationship of melody and emotion in the deeper areas of house and techno.

Moraze impresses once more with a new EP on the Instance Records label, ‘Zephyr’. His two top originals are backed with a remix from Modeplex. Classically trained and with a real love of melody and deeper emotion, Moraze shows that off in these latest tracks. An artist that devotes much time and energy on his craft, and continues to pave his way up the ladder. You can feel the devotion to sound Moraze provides. These are just a few of the many reasons he is one to watch throughout 2019.
