Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons return to Crosstown Rebels with the iconic I Found You, remixed by Black Coffee and former resident of Trouw Patrice Bäumel.

Lazarus closed his Day Zero festival in Mexico with I Found You back in January, and since then it has become one of his most requested tracks. His magical live project The Ancient Moons was first unleashed in 2014 with Lover’s Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya) and followed in 2015 by the highly acclaimed album, A Message From The Other Side, co-produced with James Ford. Since then, Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons have travelled the world with their highly immersive live show, supported Roisin Murphy on tour and played at Glastonbury festival and Melt! amongst others.

The Fader labelled The Ancient Moons “a journey into techno’s dreamiest recesses” and the four piece have been continually shrouded in mystery. Last year Lazarus and his collection of musicians retreated into the Italian countryside and started work on new and self-produced material. The Ancient Moons brings together Zulu on vocals, Ben Chetwood on electronics, and Rob Gentry on keyboards. I Found You is the first fruits of their labour. Continuing a path first started by the band’s anthemic single Vermillion, I Found You is intensely soulful, warm and paired with anthemic vocals from singer Zulu. This the first of a string of tracks from the band in 2017.

Lazarus comments: “This is the first time I've created music in a band situation and I loved every moment of it. I decided to make the new music as a collective and the four of us have created magic. The energy that we enjoyed from beginning to end of this process was electric."

Champion of the South African electronic scene Black Coffee supplies the first remix, and takes I Found You to new dimensions. This is a rare remix outing from this pioneering South African DJ. Amsterdam based Patrice Bäumel is a former resident of the now legendary Trouw and has released on Get Physical, Systematic, Diynamic, Kompakt and My Favorite Robot among others. Patrice adds complexity and takes things deeper and more atmospheric. It’s quite the package.

Danish artist Be Svendsen combines once more with the Crosstown Rebels crew, following on from his emphatic NU 'Man O To' remix, which landed in late February. The latest collaboration comes in the form of the new 'Twilight in Tankwa' EP, it comes with two original cuts as well as a remix from Berlin native Nico Stojan. Lasse Bruhn Svendsen ,as he's known to his friends and family, has been a proponent of refreshing electronic music since his emergence in 2014 and the work he started continues with yet another special record. The title track is a slow-winding groover that's coated with intricate melodic touches, while an engrossing atmosphere rotates around a punchy drum ensemble. It was very important for us to go more in depth, to put our pop background to the side whilst keeping our signature sound. That was maybe the biggest challenge whilst producing “Musik 3”. We are very happy with the result” – Super Flu

Hailing from Halle/Saale Germany, Felix Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz have created unquestionably one of dance music’s most unique acts. Fusing together a spectrum of influences which covers everything from classic house to orchestral melodies, the duo continuously push and pull the boundaries that stand before them to suit their artistic vision. With 2017 fully in their crosshairs, Super Flu proudly announce their forthcoming album titled ‘Musik 3’. An exquisite listening experience like no other. 

With the remixes of „Musik 3“ they yet again demonstrate how beautiful the melting of different genres and characteristics can unfold, and their selection of artists is as varied as it is on point. Having revelled in the glory of its original and then marvelled at Solomun’s summer smash remix of ‚mygut‘, which also features here; it’s time for Super Flu to unveil ‚Musik 3+‘

On the quest for re-invention they invited artists and friends working in all sound spectres, ranging from artists that inspire them such as Suara’s label boss Coyu, head of Stil For Talent, Oliver Koletzki, Deetron and Mathias Kaden to their Monaberry family members Viktor Talking Machine, Cioz, Ole Biege and Tim Engelhardt.

Also you find magnificent and characteristic tracks from Sobek, Roy Rosenfeld and Guy Mantzur, Ninetoes and Daniel Stefanik, soundtracking new musical adventures.
