Danish duo, Jens Christian Nogaard and Mikael Melander, better known as Baime return to Blindfold Recordings with their latest two-tracker EP, ‘Forgiven’, showcasing once again their impressive amalgm of melodic techno and deep house. 

Kicking off with the headline track, the duo pit together a brassy bassline groove against a rumbling array of low end chords that slowly open into the tracks hypnotising realm of melodic synth work that effortlessly expand, swell and tease the listener into the very late hours.

With the ‘Repeater’, the duo seriously heat things up, layering a range of looming synth chords against a set of eerie sprays, slowly introducing a warbling bassline to finally unleash a haunting range of high end chords that echo and ripple away into a haunting distance.

ATLANT stays at home for ATL015 as Paris born Acumen teams up with Remcord, who returns to the label following a resplendent remix of Flowers and Sea Creatures’ summer smash ‘Color The Rain’. The resulting two tracker wrestles our focus firmly onto the dance-floor with a club crunching double tackle.

Majestic lead track ‘Youth Identity’ has a real sense of inertia driven by jarring whirring lines and rasping percussion, as harmonies develop with Acumen & Remcord drawing you deep into an ocean of the purest analogue synths. The dynamics are further enhanced by subtle atmospheric crashes and a persistent compelling groove that leaves you wanting more.
If ‘Youth Identity’ leaves you dazed with it’s 4/4 jab, then ‘The Human Poison’ really does the deliver the knockout blow. Propelled by a powerful bassline, the chopped up fx bathed vocal sample and deep dark echoed chord stabs hit all the right club notes. This track has become a firm favourite of our label boss. The story goes that BOg couldn’t wait to get these signed up after witnessing their devastating impact live. We are very happy to have that story continue to this significant conclusion.

With a back catalogue stemming releases on the likes of Diynamic, Last Night On Earth, Suara, Selador, Get Physical and his own Time Has Changed imprint, French Producer / DJ Antoine Garcin aka Acumen has demonstrated his talent as an artist. The third in a series of album releases is set to land later in 2018. Named ‘Brune’ after his youngest daughter this will once again showcase his versatility in the studio.

Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint continues its 2018 journey by welcoming George X to the label for his debut single. The Greek artist has a meticulous discography highlighted by appearances on Dream Culture, Get Weird and Magician On Duty where his unique take on deep house has found favor with John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, and Nick Warren. Now stepping up for his first appearance on Sound Avenue George presents his latest single 'Nahuati' alongside remixes from Cosmic Cowboys and PHCK.

The release concludes with PHCK. Founded by Paul Hoffer and Chris Kusterer, PHCK operated as a duo until 2017 before eventually adding the musical talents of Stefan Kling into the group. Releases on All Day I Dream and Connaisseur highlights the trio's discography and with an ever-growing synergy, PHCK now returns on Sound Avenue. 

Clocking in at a wondrous eight minutes it’s a free-flowing journey of deep emotive house. Delicate strums combined with spiritual vocals adorn the laid-back groove while timely atmospheric shifts and energy bridges make for many magic moments along the way. Effortless in delivery it sits as a wondrous stand-alone piece as well as a perfect complement to the brilliant original. It caps off a gorgeous release from Sound Avenue who continue to bend the label narrative with deep and enchanting releases.

First up is the slow-burning but sensuous Kwaya, a patient track with well-constructed chords that float above the rubbery drums. Some enchanting vocals then join the mix to really carry you away. Kwenda is more spiritual, with pads reaching up to the heavens and drums to make you move.
