Following two acclaimed studio albums, Dan Costa presents “Live in California”, his first live and first solo piano album. It recaptures the intimate setting of the concert, which marked the final stage of his international tour. The album features solo piano versions of previously-released tunes written by Costa and well-known standards by Brazilian jazz legends.

Dan Costa is a pianist and composer, known for his original compositions and his collaborations with artists such as Ron Carter, Randy Brecker, John Patitucci, Mike Stern, Ivan Lins, Dave Liebman, Hermeto Pascoal, Dave Douglas, Seamus Blake, Leila Pinheiro, Jaques Morelenbaum, Romero Lubambo, Ricardo Silveira and Roberto Menescal. His music reflects his multicultural background as well as his appreciation of the natural environment, which has informed his artistic philosophy. It has been featured by DownBeat, All About Jazz, Jazziz, BBC, Sky News, Seven Network, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Otago Daily Times, La Repubblica, Al Arab and Rolling Stone, amongst others. A recipient of a Global Music Award, Costa has performed on six continents and his music has been featured by FOUR PAWS in support of animal welfare.
