A raw analog and folkloric perspective by the Kosovo-born, Washington DC based Mettabbana (@mettabbana).

The semiconscious state of the world of imagination, connecting without commitment facts and fictions, is the thematic-musical chosen to represent the sequences of release "Devaneio" (“Daydream”). Have you ever had the feeling of not knowing if you are awake or dreaming? We can concentrate our mental energy on the "here and now" but it can be healthy to allow ourselves the privilege to let our minds wander.

We thank the group of artists who kindly offered their compositions. It is an interesting mix of producers, pushing the sound in all sorts of new directions. We shared out the clipping among five releases, which tends towards the slow feelings. It seems like a vortex whose fluency explores elements of a fantastic world, which populates a dreamlike universe. This universe reproduces a little of the daydreaming’s wit, whose randomness is a striking fact. Therefore, the question that channels this whole plot is simple. What happens next?

Você já teve o sentimento de não saber ao certo se você está acordado ou sonhando? Podemos concentrar nossa energia mental no "aqui e agora", mas pode ser saudável permitir-nos o privilégio de deixar nossas mentes vagarem.

Agradecemos ao grupo de artistas que gentilmente ofereceram suas composições. É uma mistura interessante de produtores, empurrando o som em todos os tipos de novas direções. Nós dividimos as faixas entre cinco lançamentos, que tendem para os sentimentos lentos. Parece como um vórtice cuja fluidez explora elementos de um mundo fantástico, que povoam um universo onírico. Esse universo reproduz um pouco da sagacidade do devaneio, cuja aleatoriedade é um fato marcante. Assim, a pergunta que canaliza todo esse enredo é simples. O que acontece depois?

Producer, Luthier and Co-Founder of Shika Shika Collective, Barrio Lindo is a well know name in the Southamerican new wave, and his work is an encounter between southamerican traditional music and downtempo electronics full of organic sound, traditional instruments and colorful soundscapes. Arpeggios, melodies and groovy drums fill this landscape across the Andes mountains and the afro tropical heritage of South America.

Jakare is Halfred and Lo.Renzo's new collaborative project, exploring South American shamanic soundscapes with musical instruments like charango, ocarina and pan flutes blended with organic textures and digital grooves, thus creating a mix of tribal and post-modern musical concoction. Cosmovision Records presents ¨Elements of These Lands¨

We started as a group of music producers in Montréal, immigrants from Latin America, Europe and friends from Canada, we wanted to reinterpret the elements of this land, from North America such as: nature, native cultures, artistic forms and others. This woke a great interest from artists from all over the world, thing that finally lead to our compilation ¨Element of These Lands¨, in plural, adding a big tribe of friends from all over the world which today are part of our artistic essence, a multi cultural collective.

Our proposal is to make music that evokes respect and consciousness about nature, which understand our cultural differences as a great value for us. We look to go beyond the act of pushing buttons to create digital music, on the other side, we want to inspire ourselves as a collective and invite to reflect about the elements of our land, elements that sometimes western culture forgets, but through art we can analyze, reinterpret and value.

Our first compilation has cultural influences from: Canada, Mexico, France, Chile, Turkey, Belgium, Colombia, Lebanon, Switzerland, Italy and Argentina. 
We want to thank all the producers evolved in this compilation and our artist Mathieu Bories, visual genius of our collective; also everyone who have believed in us and never forgetting you, the people who download and share these voices which are echoes from the land itself, that through artists sing to us to generate awareness of our roots and the elements of our land.

Jakare - Doorways

Devenir Maleza was one of those projects that just arrived in our overflowing inboxes one day out of the blue. We opened the link and discovered four finely crafted, beautifully produced and captivating tracks of transformative, percussive music. 

It rare to find music that marries so well recorded percussion, live instrumentation and vocals with deep electronic productions without one dominating on the other. With Devenir Maleza Prisma and Martin Broder, a duo based between Berlin and Buenos Aires, managed to find that sweet spot that we love so much here at Shika Shika: deep, electronic but natural, acoustic and introspective. Or as the duo describes it: “a crackling, soothing, hypnotic lullaby.” 

Devenir Maleza’s was inspired by the concept of “becoming” and of transformation in many aspects. Through their long-distance collaboration the duo’s starting point was to imagine music becoming la maleza or “the undergrowth”, as if it the synths, vocals and instruments were sinking into the humid earth or drawn from the whistling wind or emerging from a rustling forest. 

The duo is joined on the EP by the talented singer and pianist Maria Barone as well as techno-producer / percussionist Merlin Genschel.

We present you the new release of our Cosmo Co-Director @ElExtravagante Inspired by psychedelia, surrealism and referring to the theories of quantum physics about multiple parallel Universes, the EP ¨Multiverso Tropical¨ was born with 5 songs that play with the aesthetics of the Amazonian Cumbia sound, Psychedelic Rock, Dembow and Acid, 100% for the dancefloor.

The questioning of the material world as we know it has been present in numerous manifestations of science, spirituality and art, from the Surrealist Paris (of the 20s as well, but of the last century), the spirituality of the Andean & Amazonian cultures and the Hippie North America. Tropical Multiverse comes at an unusual moment for humanity, however, it is presented as a musical work that proposes something new and coincides with the beginning of a new era.

¨I thank Aroma and Ultra K for their remixes and Hawai Bonsai for believing in this somewhat "unusual" approach. I hope everyone dances a lot this release since we have a lot of life, art and party still to enjoy in this world! Thanks a lot¨
