Natassa wrote the intro riff and the bare skeleton to this song about 8 years ago and then left it in her little book of notes. Shortly after Dande and The Lion formed in 2016, Natassa found herself, staring out to sea, waiting for the sun to rise and felt inspired to write. The lyrics flowed out onto the page and in that moment she knew that the music written years prior would be the perfect fit.

"I wanted to take the listener on a journey with me to feel the excitement, love, joy and pain of opening your heart to another human and connecting with them at a deeper level. I took the song to the band and we worked out all the details. Vocally, I wanted Abbey to start the song and for me to come in after the first chorus to create a narrative between two people's different perspectives on the same experience they are sharing.
