Dan DroiD is a full time vocalist for hire, and also an independant musician/producer/songwriter in early stages of career. He has been writing songs for 20 years, but only recently discovered that he could produce them in musical entirety. Still very much experimental but learning fast.
Dan's work is all his own, writing, performing, mixing, producing etc. Registered blind in 2004, Dan overcomes his visual challenges to create a big and beautiful sound using guitars, synths and software. Dan's best work is still in his head, waiting to be set free on his next album expected to be finished 2013.

This is an unmastered track that I produced and recorded potentially for my new album Melanchology. The album explores various aspects of mental health issues. My intention was to have this track build to a moving crescendo whilst avoiding big drums and guitars etc.

HIDING FROM THE LIGHT - FM5 R4M.wav

Short rock opera. Taken from my 2nd album Liberated.
This is a track inspired by musings of what happens when we die. 
it was used as the credit roll song for the  short horror film 'Seen'.

This is a track from my second album Liberated. I had ideas around EVP and a voice beyond the grave telling a positive message to loved ones. 
All the vocals are mine and the production on this track is up there with my best work to date.

Inspire

This unmastered track was intended for my forthcoming album Melanchology. 
It is a song that was in part inspired by my descent into Blindness - but I also wrote it to have a dual meaning, making references to mental health issues.
It may still make it onto Melanchology - I haven't made my mind up yet. I think the production on this is really clean and crisp & the atmosphere is strange, otherworldly.

This is an unmastered track intended for my forthcoming album MELANCHOLOGY.
it's a bare bones blues track - just voice and piano.
I originally intended it to be a fully produced and orchestrated song but found it to work nicely without any added accompaniment.
it's about neurosis and narcissists.

It might not make the final cut but there is a lot  to like about the track despite its bleak theme.

This track was a standalone song written for no particular album. 
It's theme is about how desperate so many people are to be 'known',
and how that can be a destructive thing. 

it's more important to stay true to yourself, create art and work that truly represents who you are.

This is an unmastered track intended for my next album 'Melanchology' due out in 2024.
The album explores various mental health issues and this song in particular has a bleak theme.
It is inspired by the idea that we take on a different persona sometimes in order to cope with difficulties, but in doing so, we can lose ourselves in the process. 

A STRANGER ON THE ROADSIDE - FM2.wav

I wrote and performed this song for a Charity event in aid of Help for Heroes. It's about inner strength in times of crisis.

Self producing singer songwriter and musician living in the South West of the United Kingdom. Full time covers vocalist for hire for 15 years... trying to create a legacy of his own songs.
  
Registered as Blind since 2004, Dan is losing his sight, but is currently working on his third self produced album which is an exploration of mental health themed tracks. 

Dan's music is alt-rock, using a lot of orchestral sounds and harmonies. He is a self taught producer and is extremely self critical which has plagued & hampered his career in music. Nothing is good enough... 

Dan loves most music genres, but is drawn to Alternative, Psychedelic, Symphonic and Classic Rock as a first preference.
