dAn de Berne (eigenhand)
Born in the magical land of snowy Switzerland in the late 60's, to doting parents of Italian origin, dAn from Berne was blessed with a percussionist for a father and two inspiring older brothers who not only
bought records and installed turntables at home but who both also went on to become professional Djs
in the late 70's.

As naturally as breathing, music became his first profession of choice, and at the tender age of 18
became a professional Dj. Back in those days, Djs were hired as full time live –in (resident) artists, hired
for months on end to play popular hits every night of the week which was simplified by often being
lodged at the club for the duration of the contract

When loops started making a difference in music genres, he became fascinated with this new advanced
music and started experimenting with Italo Disco in his sets. New sounds were being invented everyday
and from his first taste of Acid House, he was evermore hooked to electronic music. In 1991, looking to
settle down he ingeniously blended pleasure and business by opening an innovative kind of record
store with an unconventional, cutting -edge specialty - electronic music.

Gypsy imprinted on his soul, dAn never hesitated to travel to see his favorite artists and as he was often
far from home, his Dj name "dAn from Berne" was coined. In 2002, became the only non native
“Genevois” to become a resident at the famous Weetamix Club in Geneva where he performed
alongside artists such as Ricardo Villalobos, Akufen, Mathew Herbert,Luciano to name but a few. From that
day on dAn From Berne would specialize in electronic music, spinning in Clubs
and Festivals nationwide.

Promoter dAn regularly organizes events and parties and in 2008, became A&R for the new Lötschberg Bar, making it one of Bern's hip places to be.

Today, after 25 years performing countless gigs his eclecticism can be felt
in his sets which, combined with an impeccable technique and scrupulous selection offer an exciting and ever
changing dance floor experience any Club would be proud to present. When asked, he defines his sound as ranging from Minimaltechno through to Tech-funky House music. The future is brightly filled with plans to start producing his own music.
