I remember when it was all fields round here
Crows inbound, in flight
Flightless, without sound
Majestic, bleach and antiseptic
To clear the stain
A squirrel, 2 squirrels, 3 squirrels
Flat on the A631
No more games, kids or fun
But I'm back on the road
90 miles to go
Hoping not to disturb the peace
A life in a field beyond my reach
To never put a hair out of place
A road runner who couldn't last the pace
Nature's own
A badger, 2 badgers, 3 badgers
Back down the slip road
Inside out, on it's own
What a way to go

Dead animals on the road

It's a lonely abode
The trees rustle to the woodpecker shuffle
A transit van kerfuffle
Leaves lumpy blood stains for the predatory to pick at
Mankind takes aim at nature with it's pick axe
Deforestation and tarmac grazing
That 50 square miles is getting smaller by the day's end...

Dead Animals

We ran out of space and started again. Organic matter bumping off the walls. Lighter fluid. That mental weed that explodes. Endangered species watching, in the hopes we might get a taste. Western philosophies, sympathies and privileges. The death of language. The rebirth of never ending tyranny. Empty feelings of worthlessness. A lack of true empathy, unwilling to sacrifice for the greater good. Some tunes made in a shed when we get some free time. An unwillingness to take it too seriously. An unwillingness to let you take it too seriously. An unwillingness to repeat ourselves. Copy and paste from what we like. Atoms floating. Cabbage patch growing. A summary lacking clarity.
