The Phat Lady Sings reveal two hot remixes of their huge soulful house tune ‘Anything’, which was released this year to critical acclaim.

London bred Producer/DJ Jeff Nang merges Bass house music with elements of garage and hop hop. His bouncy basslines, hypnotic drum patterns and fresh chord progressions give ‘Anything’ a fresh vibe, moving on from the original house beat of the original. Jeff has produced remixes for the likes of Sammy Porter, Crissy Criss, Nick Brewer and Zoofunktion (Pandafunk), while his original productions have seen releases throughlabels such as Universal/Island, MMR, Clutch Records, NoiseUnion and Warpaint Records. 

The Phat Lady Sings are on a mission to break the mould in a music industry dominated by the Producer and Artist. They are a collective of songwriters who traditionally write or co-write for other artists. 

Frustrated with the shackles placed on their creativity by a rigid and business-driven industry, the group came together with the idea to deliver incredible songs, top lines, lyrics and melodies and hand them to gifted (and sometimes unknown) vocalists and producers to play with. Having done this for some time, the group decided to start releasing some of the resulting tracks themselves under the artist moniker ‘The Phat Lady Sings’.

On ‘Anything’, the collective say:

“Sometimes the creative process can sneak up on you…as was the case with ‘Anything’, one of us had an initial idea while walking home one night and recorded a note on our phone then forgot all about it. Months later while in the studio with Nutty P, we finished a project but still had an hour of studio time. Instead of jamming or leaving early, we remembered this lost voice note and played it to Nutty who started building beats around the top line. We carried on building the track…and 30 minutes later, it was done! Sometimes, but not often, it can be as easy as that”
