In August 2018, I will celebrate my 'Ten Years of Dance Music', with special dedication to the Progressive House genre and the Trance genre. The swinging track “Pjanoo" by Eric Prydz (2008) was the first mindful music-trip of a life-changing journey. The track is the eternal founder of my World of Dance Music.

Anjunabeats, personally discovered in 2009, is an imperative member of my World of Dance Music. Named after a coastal village in India, the British records label of the legendary Above & Beyond has produced breathtaking tracks and supported creative artists such as Genix, Daniel Kandi, Mat Zo, Arty, Mike Koglin, Kyau & Albert, Mike Shiver, Norin & Rad, Ost & Meyer and many other fascinating talents. 

My all-time favourite track of Anjunabeats is 'On A Good Day' by Above & Beyond pres. Oceanlab, from the ‘Sirens of the Sea’ album (2008), a melody so powerful and spiritual. This symbol of support has helped me through moments of happiness and darkness for nearly ten years. ‘Anphonic’ by Above & Beyond vs. Kyau & Albert (2010), ‘Dyno’ by Mike Koglin vs. Genix (2012), ‘Kiksu’ by Kyau & Albert (2006), ‘Everywhere You Are (Duderstadt Vocal Remix)’ by Mike Shiver (2010), ‘Nytra’ by Genix (2012) and ‘The Lost’ by Mat Zo (2010) are unchallenged tracks worthy to mention.  

With the modest playlist 'Best of Anjunabeats', I'm seeking to show gratitude towards this wonderful record label. To the people behind Anjunabeats: thank you for ten years of enjoyment, thoughtfulness, peace and development!

The biggest trance collaboration of 2010 sees Above &amp; Beyond join forces with German stars Kyau &amp; Albert for this surging peak-time trance anthem – a standout track from Above &amp; Beyond’s ‘Anjunabeats Volume 8’. Beginning in menacing fashion with tight, gnarly bass grooves and a shuffling tech rhythm, ‘Anphonic’ then balances darkness with light through a deeply uplifting breakdown and a beautifully simple, clipped melody that manages to feel fresh and familiar all at once. Ripping back into a contrasting combination of electro bass and epic chords, ‘Anphonic’ then shifts another gear as the main melody gets released to full, climatic effect.

Propelled by two of the biggest DJs in global dance music, Above &amp; Beyond and Gareth Emery pres. OceanLab ‘On A Good Day (Metropolis)’ is a people’s record in the truest sense of the phrase. 

With over 2.5 million views on YouTube and mainstream support from Radio 1’s Scott Mills, the euphoric club track even inspired a singalong more in keeping with a U2 concert than a club set at this year’s Global Gathering festival: http://bit.ly/9tlqY9.   
OceanLab’s ‘On A Good Day’ originally featured on the 2008 LP ‘Sirens Of The Sea’, an album that reached #1 in the US iTunes dance chart, and was lauded in respected publications such as Mixmag and DJ Magazine. 

‘On A Good Day’ remained a firm favourite in the sets of Above &amp; Beyond – eventually receiving another lease of life when its vocals were married with Gareth Emery’s ‘Metropolis’ as a DJ bootleg by Hungarian duo Myon &amp; Shane 54.

After picking up mainstream radio support from Radio 1, ‘On A Good Day (Metropolis)’ is now being released alongside a drum &amp; bass rework from scene stalwarts J Majik and Wickaman (known for their uplifting, club-smashing remix of Deadmau5’s chart hit ‘I Remember’), which has already been hammered by Andy C, Chrissy Chris (1 Xtra), Radio 1’s Grooverider, Hype, Judge Jules and Adam F. A previously unreleased acoustic version will feature as iTunes exclusive track.

Tapping into the vocal’s narrative of triumph over adversity, the official music video centres on the story of Detroit’s Georgia Street Community Collective, and their drive to regenerate the derelict buildings and industrial graveyards of Detroit and transform them into urban farms and community gardens.
