Continuing with the autumnal feels as we approach the release of Essentials Fall 2025 is the instrumental track "Sometimes It's Hard to Say" between G Mills and Molly McPhaul. This energized collaboration has fitting artwork that takes us up in clouds, where daydreams and nostalgic reflections are all the more common. "Molly is the loop queen," says G Mills, "and sent me the initial guitar layers. I then played piano and bass and after some back and forth, Molly added the vocals, which I think really tied the whole thing together." The lively track is vibrant and energized, one fitting for both outdoors and indoors, socializing with friends or studying away. "The songs I’ve made with G Mills," says Molly, "have always felt less like compositions and more like discoveries. The music feels familiar, as if it had always existed somewhere in the cosmos, waiting to be translated through production and collaboration.” This track perfectly prepares us for a new season, for the arrival of Fall, as leaves change and leave the trees to meet the ground. As the nights grow longer and the heat fades away.

"Some truths live in silence," adds Molly, referring to the song title, "and when what we feel is too complex or raw to put into words, that’s when we create art."

“Sometimes It's Hard to Say” is the second and final single off of Essentials Fall 2025, with the full compilation out next week on September 4.
