Welcome to the traverse EP, my debut collection of songs written between 2019-2023. This EP walks you through my early to mid-twenties and I have been working on it as often as I have had the emotional and creative energy to. I present to you my favorite, most meaningful, and cohesive 5 songs in an order that is significant to me. 

I would like to thank my bandmates, Melvin Grayem III and Cameron Womack for helping this project see this light of day and for believing in this EP even when I didn't, my brother, rock, and the producer/mixer/master of this EP, Dryw Owens, my wonderful and incredibly supportive and helpful wife and often muse, Jane Blackburn, my parents, Shalita and Bill Blackburn, and my entire family. Thank you Wyley Wilkin and Uncle John (John Chitambar) for lending their invaluable vocal lessons and insight to me as I made the transition from drummer to songwriter and vocalist.

Refreshing indie-pop with both a lyrical and rhythmic drive, Blackburn is the creative collaboration of Sacramento-based musicians Daniel Blackburn, Melvin Grayem III, and Cameron Womack. Blackburn is the original concept of multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and band’s namesake, Daniel Blackburn. Vocalist, Melvin Grayem III, has worked closely with Daniel on both their forthcoming “Traverse EP" and other projects years prior to Blackburn. Halfway through the writing and recording of the "Traverse EP", drummer, Cameron Womack, made a seamless transition from Blackburn’s live drummer to band member. 
 
Blackburn’s debut “Traverse EP” will be available on all platforms May 26, 2023 and was mixed, mastered, and produced by Dryw Owens.
