Daniel Bray's first album, released in 2015, is the quintessential "bedroom album", recorded through a single microphone direct to a cheap laptop. Many household items were drafted into the effort, with blankets, pillows, towels, and miscellaneous furniture pieces all being carefully employed to shape the sound of each track while minimizing outside noise.
As on any solo instrumental album, variety is key. With the aggressive "Belter" and "Nothing Special" being balanced by ethereal "Only Humans are Mean to Each Other" and almost-traditional "Sorry is This Embarrasses Me", Blue Spark takes most of it's cues from harder edged alternative rock, with contrasting forays into shoe-gazing, folk and new age.

Daniel Bray is a solo artist from the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia. With a focus on fleet-fingered fingerstyle and ringing twelve string chordmanship, he aims to shake the acoustic guitar loose from it's traditions as a stand-in for power ballads, a woo-me tool for love-struck suitors, a convenient prop for old westerns and, most heinous of all, an implement of embarrassment in the hands of countless teenagers trying to be cool.
When not writing, practicing, recording, producing or promoting his music, Daniel tries at all times to act in a mature and respectable manner, whilst indulging in his twin pleasures of lightly sarcastic witticisms and abstract references.
