The 45th edition of Juicebox Radio welcomes - Dimuth K. Born in Sri Lanka and currently based in Toronto, Canada Dimuth has been on the forefront of inspiring the new generation of Sri Lankan Electronic music scene. He has shared the decks with names like Nick Warren, Jeremy Olander, Guy J, Cid Inc to name a few and has had stunning releases on imprints such as Sudbeat, Plattenbank, Edge and many more. In 2018 he made his debut on our label by remixing Ziger's "Razor" found on our label's third volume of "Untold Stories" which is also a highlight in the label's retrospective "The Collection: Volume 3". Dimuth also made an appearance on the label's ambient compilation "Tales of Time - Chapter 1" in 2019, in collaboration with Joel Fernando titled "Manu." Now in 2021, he is back on our imprint with a forthcoming Reverie mix of Jiminy Hop's "Contemplation" and to celebrate it, we're stoked to have Dimuth K on our show with an exclusive 1 hour mix. DJ Ruby is the most prolific underground dance music artist that loomed from the party island of Malta, amassing a huge fan base that follows him unconditionally, as well as an established name throughout the global dance music industry, mainly in the progressive scene.

As a music producer, DJ Ruby holds a vast discography of his own productions, remixes, 3 albums and multiple compilations. Many of his tracks are regularly supported by the planet’s leading DJs, with most of his music always finding a place in Beatport charts or selections.

After a very long and successful time working and focusing solely on the the local Maltese scene, in 2018 DJ Ruby went through a complete rebranding, he build a new identity and shifted his all his energy to break into the international scene. It took only a few months to do so. In a short period of time he made a name for himself, gained worldwide recognition, and founded a firm place in the global progressive house stage. His regular live video sets, streams, guest mixes, and the Prog On mix series with Proton, tend to go viral instantly, receiving constant good feedback from fans, clubbers, and fellow artists. He is followed by thousands on all his on social media platforms making him a very influential body in the scene. 

With an international mindset switched on, DJ Ruby is now mostly touring, and has cut down on the non stop back to back gigs and events he used to do locally for many years. This has given him time to sit on the studio’s hot seat, focus, build a custom musical identity and produce tracks and do remixes on a more regular basis. In fact between 2021 & 2022, DJ Ruby had an array of releases on some of the best record labels of the progressive house genre. In this period he also put together two compilations which toped multiple Beatport charts; ’Constellations: Orion’ for SLC-6 music and Augmented for Mango Alley.

With an impressive biography that can be nearly infinite, DJ Ruby has earned a well-deserved reputation that can be only summarised into one word; legend!!

Huge one for us. We are over the moon for this, our biggest guest mix so far! We’ve been fans of Ruben’s for years now. His tracks and remixes are obligatory references in the gigs we play and the sets we mix. Meeting him in person at ADE last year was a treat and such a chill experience at the same time.

Ruben Karapetyan is a proud Armenian born in Yerevan & raised in Los Angeles, California. A veteran DJ who got his first pair of decks 3 decades back, he has been influenced by the ‘90s rave movement, as well as top notch pioneers of the Electronic Music industry such as Sasha, John Digweed, and Nick Warren amongst others!

Dubbed as Armenia’s Top Electronic export back from the late ‘90s by Zrutsaser, one of the biggest Music/Entertainment magazines at that time in Armenia, getting him on their front-cover, while previously hosting musicians & artists such as Madonna, Eminem, ao..!

In 2020 Ruben’s name got known to the modern electronic music industry with a signing on Greek imprint Movement Recordings, receiving massive remix treatment by heroes of Progressive House such as Stan Kolev & Emi Galvan in his ‘Gignesthai’ single that came in November, while his 2nd release entitled 'Hathor' including remixes by Matan Caspi & Stan Kolev reached #1 on Beatport’s Top10 prog releases. In 2021 Ruben signed with UK-based Lowbit Records with ‘Teardrop’ & ‘Karo’ following in Spring 2021 with remix treatment by Paul Angelo & Don Argento, and Alfonso Muchacho.

Since that time, he’s been a mainstay on labels like Mango Alley, UV, 3rd Avenue, One Dot Six Two, Univack, Transensations, Droid 9, Meanwhile Recordings… in addition to now running his own label, RKP Records.

DJ Ruby, famoso por sus impecables sets y por ofrecer un ambiente de fiesta enérgico y positivo allá donde actúa, está considerado un auténtico pionero de su calibre, una persona trabajadora y modesta que siempre ha madurado con la escena. Cuenta ya con 30 años de experiencia, en los que ha obtenido innumerables logros y elogios imposibles de mencionar en unas pocas líneas.

DJ Ruby es responsable de haber sido una de las principales fuerzas que iniciaron y dieron forma a la escena musical dance de élite de Malta hasta convertirla en lo que es hoy. Durante muchos años, fue anfitrión de innumerables eventos bajo la marca Pure Promotions, marcando tendencias para varios conceptos de clubbing en la isla e introduciendo a múltiples generaciones en la música electrónica de baile.
