"Take one held tone and make it dance slowly"

HI, I used a single Saw waveform playing a C note. I made it evolve using the Mod-wheel mapped to filter frequency cutoff and the knobs and faders of my midi controller mapped to tweak filters and LFO in real time.
Recorded two parallel tracks, one tweaking a square waveform LFO1 mapped to "volume" , the second track tweaking a pulse LFO2 mapped to Filter-Cutoff.

It's Only A Saw Waveform (disquiet0631)

This week, I made a drone in D with three oscillators and Rings.
These are processed through lubadh, clouds, various delays and reverb, with lots of modulation, including rhythmic elements which come in later.  I started out with one tone and then gradually introduce and adjust the elements so the drone slowly dances.

Disquiet Junto Project 0631, "In a Silent Waveform". The assignment: take one held tone and make it dance slowly.

This was a chance to revisit something I'd done a few years back, rhythmically sequencing the drawbars of a Hammond B-3. This piece has a single chord held throughout, with the only variation in sound coming from the drawbars (and at the end, the Leslie speed).

James Stanley Brakhage (/ˈbrækɪdʒ/ BRAK-ij;[2] January 14, 1933 – March 9, 2003) was an American experimental filmmaker. He is considered to be one of the most important figures in 20th-century experimental film.

Over the course of five decades, Brakhage created a large and diverse body of work, exploring a variety of formats, approaches and techniques that included handheld camerawork, painting directly onto celluloid, fast cutting, in-camera editing, scratching on film, collage film and the use of multiple exposures. Interested in mythology and inspired by music, poetry and visual phenomena, Brakhage sought to reveal the universal, in particular exploring themes of birth, mortality,[3] sexuality,[4] and innocence.[4] His films are for the most part silent.

Brakhage's films are often noted for their expressiveness[4][5] and lyricism.[4][6] While they were for many years obscure and hard to find, many are now archived and readily available on modern home media.[7]

In some words:
Composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist. Born in Argentina,
I studied music in Buenos Aires, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris.

For 20 years, I developed an important career as a session and backing musician in Argentina and Europe, playing, among other instruments, the bass, touring and recording with many jazz, rock, fusion, world, Latin and tango bands.

At the same time, I worked as an arranger, producer and musical director with many projects and artists in the USA, Argentina and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, I performed my compositions live with my own band in Buenos Aires and began a solo recording career with the worldwide release of my first album "The Years Alone" on the North American label Green Linnet/Xenophile. On this album I arranged and performed 11 of my songs written between 1986 and 1993. I played most of the instruments, but included guest appearances by some great South American players.

My recording career continued with "Segundo Ciclo" (1997), released worldwide by Timeless Records, and 12 more albums released between 2000 and 2016.

Currently, I work as an on-demand film/TV composer while continuing to play live and produce.
