When attention turns to the Dutch underground electronic music scene, the spotlight rarely falls on those championing the melodic and emotive potential of futurist Detroit techno. Yet scratch beneath the surface and you’ll find a new generation of DJs, producers and label owners dedicated to Motor City style machine soul, with Jasper Wolff standing front and centre.

Wolff has been a pivotal figure in Amsterdam’s techno underground since the late  nineties, when he started to become a regular face behind the decks at some of the Netherlands’ most vital and important techno clubs. 
Thanks to falling in love with  underground electronic music at a young age, he already gathered an impressive  collection of techno, house records and was already being booked to appear at  sizable festival and clubs.

Wolff is probably best known for his long-running partnership with Maarten  Mittendorff. Connecting the dots between Detroit techno, intergalactic electro and the sounds of influential local labels such as Rush Hour and Delsin where they  released their ‘Tesseract EP’ in 2018, Wolff and Mittendorf quickly became  residents at the late, great Amsterdam institution Trouw and were regular headline  attractions at now Defunct Paris hot-spot Concrete. Naturally, the duo also released  music on the famed French club’s offshoot label, Concrete Music. And now  continues to be a regular DJ at key Amsterdam venue De School.

Their fame spread further following the 2011 launch of Indigo Aera, a label dedicated  to showcasing techno music with soul. Wolff continues to co-handle A&R for the  label, offering up a mixture of new material from the likes of Stephen Brown, Marcel  Dettmann, Louis Haiman, Private Press as well as previously unheard archive  material from artists who’ve inspired them (think Kirk Degiorgio, Don Williams,  Makam, Ø [Phase], Rush Hour co-founder Antal, Sterac and Joris Voorn). Wolff was  also integral in the launch of Indigo Aera sub-label Æx, an imprint dedicated to  offering up compilation-style EPs featuring ‘timeless music’ from befriended and  like-minded artists old and new.

In many ways, Wolff is going back to his roots, delivering solo sets of raw, energetic  and soul-powered machine music and productions, just as he did during the  formative years of his career.

Daniel Fritschi has been an active member of the Düsseldorf Music Community since 1995 where he began his career as a DJ with a residency in a small club in the Düsseldorf Altstadt. Three years later he would co-found EGO-club, an illegal-underground club in the center of the city combining art and music. EGO opened in 1998 and in its time was highly influential on the music scenes of Düsseldorf and Köln. The project concluded in 2001 with a compilation double-CD and catalogue "Live sets at EGO 1998-2000" which received international attention for featuring some of the best electronic artists of the time.
After EGO Fritschi would continue to host various underground parties and events in off-locations throughout the city before starting his record label Level Records in 2004 and making his debut-appearance on the level1 quartett 12" EP. One year later he would release his first full 12" level2 intonation ep. Several remixes and tracks followed, including a track released on the Sushitech label. Over the years Fritschi developed Level Records as a label, producing to date 23 vinyl and CD releases ranging from electronica to deep, minimalistic, underground house.
In 2007until 2009 Daniel Fritschi was founding member and resident DJ of the "Particle Riot" collective at the Künstlerverein Malkasten.
In 2010 Daniel Fritschi began his largest undertaking towards building an permanent basis when he organized the "c|o level festival" in the foyer of an old, abandoned theatre located in the center of Düsseldorf. The festival consisted of seven events featuring a representative, cross-section of the cities musical sub-culture, held over the course of four consecutive weeks.
On the conclusion of this venture Fritschi recognized the potential in his location and decided to further develop the space, opening "Foyer” five months later on a weekly basis, as a temporary club featuring monthly Level Records label nights. With Foyer, Fritschi would succeed in establishing his vision of creating a place where various music scenes could come to collide with the art scene in a large-scale, underground styled setting. Foyer proved to be a unique venue sorely needed in the Düsseldorf music scene and over the course of nearly three years, and in collaboration with several artists and promoters, it established itself with a reputation for quality, non-commercial programming before being closed abruptly in the spring of 2013 by the City for reasons which to this day remain fully unclear.
In 2015 Daniel Fritschi pursued his enduring vision of bringing together the music and art scenes in a newly created underground setting called “Golzheim”, located in the belly of a bridge.
After 1 ½ years of “Rohbau”-construction period, Golzheim officially opened doors in May 2016 and is evolving ever since to an underground club with the reputation of really caring for Soundquality, unique optics and a proper club experience and programming in general.
Until end of January 2023, when Golzheim club was forced to close, due to the necessary reconstruction of the building it was located in, Daniel Fritschi was hosting weekly events, in total more than 500 events and plays alongside with local and international guests as resident DJ, strictly vinyl only sets.
In 2023 he started playing Vinyl-hybrid and Synthesizer-live sets in the "Logarhythm" band with Justus Grosskreutz and Ceren Gülcelik on the vocals. Another Sideproject with Justus Grosskreutz was the more Acid-leaning project "JD Rumble".
