"Oh, Alice," is a compilation of multiple new tracks and a few re-mastered pieces that celebrate the strong women in my life who have changed me for the better, influenced my worldview, and done the work no one else in the world was willing to do. This album is an homage to women everywhere who still have to navigate a patriarchal world ruled primarily by fragile ego'd men. 
"Oh, Alice," borrows metaphorically on the themes from Alice in Wonderland but stripped of the "silly girl" presentation of the original. The album begins on the busy streets of Urban America where we find, Alice, walking away from it all as she seeks to find her own voice. 
Multiple ethnicities and the settings they portray are represented in the varying female, ad lib vocals, that hopefully capture the spirit of those women and the world they live in . 
Alice is every woman; my wife, my mother, my daughter and granddaughters, the tribal women of Turkana, Los Tias from the southern mountains of Guatemala, those living in the oppression of the indigenous, Middle Eastern world, and every mother who ever lost a child and for the nurses who cared for those infants. I am forever changed and challenged by the memories of each of them.

I love music! I love the freedom of it, its absence of rules and regulations. I play for the love of playing. My music tends to be soundtracks to memories and images. It is organic, sometimes experimental, always hybrid.  Born in the 60's and raised in the 70's, I love to experiment, and music is my medium. Music, at its best, is play. It is childlike in its explorations, imagination, and transcendence above the noise of the world. 
In music there is but one race: human. One country, earth. No borders. No boundaries. No rules. Music may be one of the last great tools to bring people, ALL people, together in seeking some common ground on the eternal groove that is the universe.
I hope you dig some of the tracks. I hope you have peace in your life. I hope you know light. I hope you know love.
