The god Kū, before he was known as a god, fell in love with a human woman and worked hard as a planter in her village. When a terrible famine struck, Kū sacrificed himself for his wife and children by disappearing into the ground.What grew in his spot was an ulu tree(breadfruit) providing enough food forever! this is a love song about how loving someone like that fruit.

Wave of Resistance

Emerging from the ashes of Lahaina's wildfires in 2023, Cherreh Strawberry is a reggae band with a unique story. Formed when keyboardist Daniel Lopez and singer Sol Church found solace in playing music at a community shelter, with the common goal of using music to heal and uplift.

The eclectic ensemble brings together a diverse range of talents, including Jeremy Savo on guitar and backup vocals, Raja Iliya on guitar and back up vocals , Spencer Swengler on drums and Jason Byrd on bass. Together, they weave a musical tapestry that transcends genres, infusing reggae with elements drawn from their varied influences.

Cherreh Strawberry draws inspiration from the roots of reggae, paying homage to icons like Toots and the Maytals, Steel Pulse, Wailing Souls, and Johnny Clarke. Their sound is a fusion of soulful melodies, rhythmic beats, and CONSCIOUS lyrics, echoing the resilience of the Hawaiian spirit.
