Black Roses Nineteenth EP comes from Erly Tepshi, one of the label founders. In this EP you'll dive into the unknown, fasten your seatbelts for a journey into the space where the light of the stars will bring some brightness in the darkest universe and get lost in a fantasy world. The first track is "Hidden feat. Eleonora", deep grooves with a solid kick and spatial elements surround the unique vocals of Eleonora. The second track is "Seven Deadly Sins", inspired by the homonym anime. In this track the leads will give a sense of redemption. The third track is "Dune" characterised by a strong and dark bassline the plucks will make you feel lost in a desolate desert. Over a 15-year period Truesoul has set the standard for engaging and effective club music, drawing in fans from across the techno spectrum. A relentless dedication to quality means it’s logistically impossible for Adam Beyer to release music from all the impressive artists who send him tracks each year for Truesoul. This EP showcases four such outstanding cuts, all of which have been tried and tested in Beyer’s sets in recent months. Indeed, anyone who witnessed his deliciously groove-ridden daytime set at Sonus Festival in August (or listened via episode DCR370), would have already been treated to an unofficial preview of the release. 

Belgian’s Ramon Tapia kicks the EP off in superb style with ‘Hexagon’, an energetic slice of techno that builds towards a pumping finish. Fast rising Manchester duo OC & Verde team up with Italian producer Veerus for ‘Naaki’, the track highlighted by a rousing call-to-arms vocal that saw it go down a storm during Beyer’s annual gig on the Amnesia Terrace for Cocoon in Ibiza. The beautiful vocal-led ‘Take My Life’ follows courtesy of Spaniard Marc Marzenit, adding an extra dimension to the release, while still having enough percussive fizz to keep the dancefloor moving. Southampton’s Ronnie Spiteri is another emerging talent to create waves in 2017 and he delivers the knockout blow with ‘Sugar Lips’, a chunky soul-infused offering that’ll be effective in house and techno sets alike.

It’s been a while since we released a V/A on Noir Music and I only ever compile them whenever I feel I have 5-6 tracks that stand out.

Dark Stars Volume 4 has been 6 months in the making and yes..... I know I am picky with the music I sign. I hear that on an almost daily basis.
But even though I could pick music from many different artists it still took me months of compiling, testing the music in clubs and at festivals and then putting together the tracks I felt stood out and complimented each other.

The great thing about V/A’s is that you get the chance to put together a release from artists with completely different sounds and ideas.
Although the sound of Dark Stars Volume 4 is quite minimal sounding overall, it still reflects musicality and great in-depth productions by skillful and experienced artists.
Another great thing about Volume 4 is that these are all artists who make their debut on Noir Music.

I truly love playing every single track from this release and I enjoy watching the crowds reactions around the globe.
I feel no need to get deeper into detail about the specific tracks, as the music will speak for itself.

Teenage Mutants - Real (Original Mix)

Two contrasting remixes of ‘Space Date’ come courtesy of Pleasurekraft and John Monkman, as the three-way collaboration between Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet continues to thrill. Joining the strong reworks is an unexpected treat for fans; a last-minute inclusion of a fresh new original track from the trio.

Drumcode got its first taste of Pleasurekraft’s unique production touch in 2016 when ‘Dopefield’ dropped on ‘A-Sides Vol.5’. The Swedish/American duo’s exploration of cosmic techno realms made them the ideal candidates to re-work ‘Space Date’. Their contribution is as visceral as they come; defined by a hypnotic vocal arrangement, a stirring call and response melody and propulsive galloping beats fashioned for peak-time moments. No surprise it was a highlight of Adam Beyer’s Ultra Resistance sets and gobsmacked Maceo Plex who requested a promo to play at Time Warp a week later.

Meanwhile Drumcode debutant John Monkman steps up with a very different, but not less deadly reinterpretation of ‘Space Date’. The Brit has impressed in recent times with strong releases on Ellum, Kompakt and his own Beesemyer imprint, and takes this form into DC207. His is a twisted intergalactic re-rub drenched in warped electro, blistering modular sounds and touches of IDM that manages the difficult task of taking the original to darker, more leftfield realms without ever losing its powerful dancefloor pulse. 

A new collaborative work ‘Data Point’ joins the pack, only completed by the trio of Beyer, Giordani and Green Velvet in late May in time for the Drumcode boss to drop it at IMS Dalt Villa during the sunset slot with Ida Engberg.
