Can You Feel it?

I am a seasoned guitarist,bass player, & vocalist & also a Graduate of the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood California. I play in my own classic rock trio in town ,the Dan Merchant Band! But recently I put together a great new southern rock /new country band called SOULJAM!!

I was born in Schenectady , New York, with a guitar in my hand, I grew to be a prominent musician and played with many bands at a very early age.
I played guitar & bass in the pit band for three high school musicals. I also graduated early to become a classical guitar major,who was also trained in vocals chorally. From that point I played in many 80s rock bands, Flyt, Parvis, Frax, Seducer, The Agents, just to name a few.

In 1987 , I went to Los Angeles , California , and I attended the Guitar Institute of Technology. I spent the year there focusing on my craft.
I had the great honor and distinction to play with Scott Henderson,Norman Brown, Richard Smith, Paul Gilbert, & Billy Sheehan(whom I have known for years from the Talas days)as well as
Charlie Fechter, and Eric Pascal, the list goes on & on...

The experience was incredible, I went in a rock guy and came out playing Rock , jazz, funk, fusion, blues, country, etc...

It was a great time in my life. Then I returned home to New York and played with a few bands, but Flipside stood out in my mind,I had provided the band with many original written compositions.

After that, I relocated to Orlando , Florida, where I proceeded to play with many more local acts including American Steele , Streetrunner,
Falcon Taylor, Fistfullablues, the Dan Merchant Jazz band, Streetbeat, Groovesum,& 
the Retrocats, ( an 8 piece jazzband) Diablo Canyon, Jakson County,
Bruce Coale Band, and finally the Dan Merchant Band, and also DMB Rock & Metal !!
Since doing all these great things in Florida , I have returned to my home town in New York. I am concetrating on my new band Souljam and having great fun in doing so.
I have had a lot of fun, and I have my mind firmly planted on where i am going from here musically, and there is nothing or nobody who will stand in my way of musical excellence.
