Before you lie a landscape marked by monumental topography, a cacophony of mesas, sheer cliffs, and ravines that tumble almost instantaneously into each other. A world aeons older than your own, the pervasive natural forces of the universe have sculpted it into a masterpiece of flora and stone. From the cliffsides cascade an endless ecosystem of epiphytic vines, grasping gracefully onto the knurled surface of the exposed sandstone. Far below, the rainwater that runs filtered through the mountainsides gathers in cerulean pools in the depths of the ravines, which glisten gently in the light of the few rays of sunlight that reach their surfaces. What new life might lurk hidden amidst these crevasses, striding upon the sandstone or soaring above it? Coiled around the portal, the VISION SERPENT now promises an elder knowledge, something long lost yet intrinsically tied to all that surrounds you, something that can be found only amidst the bounties of this lush and beautiful land. YVC make their VISION SERPENT debut with PIECE OF MIND, a single that features a pair of remixes from 8Kicks & Krypta. The title track's determined bassline rolls out beneath an assortment of glitched sonic fragments that flit about within its darkened atmosphere, with 8kick's remix redefining the low-end motion and incorporating a mysterious melodic motif. This is followed by WHEN IT COMES, the single's B-side from YVC which thrums with galvanic tonalities that emanate from its driving rhythmic core. Krypta's remix closes the EP by rerouting these tonal currents, folding them back on themselves for an expertly warped take on the original track.

Joris Voorn's Spectrum imprint continues its mission to spotlight visionary electronic music with the debut of Dutch producer Tim van Werd, who delivers a cinematic two-track EP: 'View From Space.' A release inspired by the awe of the cosmos and the humbling perspective of orbit. 

The title track, 'View From Space,' draws on the powerful words of Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, whose reflections from orbit sparked the theme of the EP. Glistening chimes and warm, enveloping rhythms capture the beauty of Earth as seen from above, a fragile, shared home suspended in the blackness of space. It's a meditation on unity, wonder, and the stillness of perspective.

The journey continues with 'Jupiter', a bold musical leap into the outer solar system. Swirling pads and expansive textures echo the eternal storms and timeless energy of the gas giant. It's a piece that explores scale, a soundtrack to drifting past something ancient, unknowable, and infinitely vast. A reminder of our place in the universe, and the power of sound to express the inexpressible. 

With View From Space, Tim van Werd delivers an emotionally resonant debut. A perfect fit for the Spectrum ethos of music with meaning, mood, and magnitude.

Having already released two highly respected and well received VA’s, Fur Coat’s Oddity returns with “Odd Echoes Vol.3”. The most comprehensive offering to date, the VA features twenty original tracks from artists already synonymous with the label, as well as some new and exciting talent.

Fur Coat’s continued dedication to their label has resulted in a rapidly growing catalogue of anticipated releases. By focussing on unearthing emerging artists within the scene whilst putting forward their own sound and that of
established figures, the imprint has continued to go from strength to strength.

Throughout the package, we are greeted with what we have come to know and love from Oddity. Twenty original tracks, mostly from first timers on the label, which span a real breath of melodic techno sounds. It seems that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and the VA is compiled in a way that really takes you on a journey. In the earlier stages artists highlight a more down tempo and reserved sound easing us into the work. Approaching the mid section of the release we start to see the artists focusing on tracks that are more driving, with a faster pace, clearly aimed for club use.

Rounding off the VA, tracks are characterised with faster beats, atmospheric builds and enlightening moments to create records that any dance floor will be hungry for. All in all it's an impressive VA, both in the size of the contributions, but also in the array of sounds explored by all involved.

Daniel Portman was born and raised in the suburbs of Zurich, Switzerland. He fell in love with electronic music at a very young age: It was the late 90s, with all its ups and downs, when young Daniel started to test his musical abilities on an Akai2000 sampler and an old sequencer.

Mid 2000s his first EP “Backside / Evolution” was released on Unreleased Digital. Followed by the EP “I never sleep”. Tracks came up on labels such as Harem Records, Big & Dirty, Armada, AnjunaDeep or on PinkStar Records next to releases on his homebase label Unreleased Digital.
He’s also known for successful collab productions with Jerome Isma-Ae and Stanley Ross.

Rapidly he gained a big base of fans from all corners of the world, and his agenda got fully booked with DJ gigs on all continents. He made quite a heavy assault on the DJ scene performing on events in front of more than 10’000 people.

Over the years Daniel designed a forward thinking and unique style of house music, which can be described as a mixture of progressive house and techno. But also with an ability to infuse cutting edge machine music with soulful grooves. Therefore his productions regularly fill the top positions of Beatport’s Top 100 chart and are fast becoming staples for DJs everywhere.
