Driving, hypnotic & dreamy – a track I wrote in New Zealand between sun, clouds and heavy winds, feeling completely at peace.

I produced Queen Diva in New Zealand – somewhere between sun and clouds, strong winds and plants that didn’t move at all.

It was one of those strange, quiet moments where nature feels both powerful and completely at peace. I felt calm, grounded and detached from my usual noise and expectations.

This was the first track I made with a brand new synth plugin, so a lot of my focus went into sound design and texture – letting the synth lead me instead of overthinking everything.

The result is driving, hypnotic and dreamy:
a steady pulse that keeps pushing forward, wrapped in floating atmospheres and details you only catch when you really listen.

For me, Queen Diva is that feeling of standing in the wind, but feeling completely still inside.

Entering a futuristic realm through spoken word vocoders, heavy percussion and soaring synths, the producers explore a cacophony of sounds in the title track. The ‘Digital Age’ artwork showcases a striking image of a blacktip shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Blacktip sharks (Carcharhinus limbatus) are powerful predators found in tropical and subtropical waters, playing a key role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems by regulating prey populations. These sharks are known for their distinctive black-tipped fins and their remarkable agility, often leaping out of the water during feeding frenzies. Unfortunately, overfishing and habitat degradation are threatening their populations. The Shark Research Unit, (@sharkresearchunit / shark-research.com), is conducting critical studies on shark behavior, ecology, and conservation to protect these vital species and ensure the health of ocean ecosystems.

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.

Daniel Portman was born and raised in the suburbs of Zurich, Switzerland. He fell in love with electronic music at a very young age: It was the late 90s, with all its ups and downs, when young Daniel started to test his musical abilities on an Akai2000 sampler and an old sequencer.

Mid 2000s his first EP “Backside / Evolution” was released on Unreleased Digital. Followed by the EP “I never sleep”. Tracks came up on labels such as Harem Records, Big & Dirty, Armada, AnjunaDeep or on PinkStar Records next to releases on his homebase label Unreleased Digital.
He’s also known for successful collab productions with Jerome Isma-Ae and Stanley Ross.

Rapidly he gained a big base of fans from all corners of the world, and his agenda got fully booked with DJ gigs on all continents. He made quite a heavy assault on the DJ scene performing on events in front of more than 10’000 people.

Over the years Daniel designed a forward thinking and unique style of house music, which can be described as a mixture of progressive house and techno. But also with an ability to infuse cutting edge machine music with soulful grooves. Therefore his productions regularly fill the top positions of Beatport’s Top 100 chart and are fast becoming staples for DJs everywhere.
