HAFT, the Iranian duo of Sam Nasehi and Amir Subb, are known for fusing hypnotic synths, deep- rooted pads, and intricate percussion into a sound that bridges traditional textures with modern progressive house. Their debut three-track EP on Balance Music delivers a journey filled with psychedelic undercurrents and shimmering atmospheres that is crafted equally for the dance floor and for deep listening.

The brooding ‘Driftor’ is designed to nudge any DJ set in the right direction. An off-beat bass drives the engine, allowing you to comfortably sit in the pocket of its inviting narrative. Steely drums and percussion form a cohesive frame, while a bag of tasteful effects, samples, and stabs fill the remaining spaces. Once the breakdown hits, in all its subtlety, you know you’re in the hands of professionals. This is essential prog, designed for any occasion.

There is an undercurrent of psychedelia running through ‘Myntal’, hypnotic and consuming. Low- end frequencies double as notes, merging with the bass to create a dizzying effect. Its main-room identity, however, is confirmed by drums that strut forward with propulsive energy. It all points towards a seductive breakdown, its layering teasing a drop that confirms it: this is designed for floors ready to ignite.

Filled with depth, ‘Prism’ shimmers and shakes as synths and stabs perpetually morph. The result is a continuous stream of sonic moments to lose yourself in. Thankfully, the dense bassline and drums bring you back from the edge of hypnosis, filling the space with an elastic energy as buoyant as a trampoline. Then comes the breakdown: bells dissolve into minor-key haze, half beautiful, half surreal: an inviting dream-logic that is hard to deny.

Mein Weg zum DJ 

Ich war schon immer fasziniert davon, wie DJs mit ihrer Musik ganze Clubs in Bewegung bringen und eine einzigartige Atmosphäre schaffen. Schon früh war ich Teil dieser Szene – anfangs als Beobachter, oft als Begleiter von Freunden, die selbst auflegten. Besonders bei den legendären Bertone-Nächten war ich regelmäßig dabei. Ich habe immer bewundert, was hinter dem Pult passiert – und tief in mir gespürt: Das will ich auch. Jetzt ist die Zeit gekommen, meine eigene Energie, meinen Sound und meine Leidenschaft auf das Publikum zu übertragen – und gemeinsam mit allen die Nacht zum Beben zu bringen.

 „SpielRaum“  wie die Idee entstand.

Der Name „SpielRaum“ war schnell gefunden – der Raum, in dem ich heute streame, war schon immer mein persönliches Kreativzimmer. Hier habe ich Musik gemacht, mit Freunden gechillt und Ideen entwickelt. Für mich war klar: Das ist mein Raum zum Ausprobieren, zum Spielen – mein „SpielRaum“.

Wie kam ich zum LiveStream?

Die Idee zu streamen entstand ganz locker im Freundeskreis – zunächst eher als Spaß. Doch der Wunsch, vor größerem Publikum aufzulegen, war bei mir schon immer da. Der Stream bietet dafür die perfekte Plattform: Ich kann mich kreativ ausleben, Reichweite aufbauen und gleichzeitig befreundeten DJs – manche bekannt, andere noch unentdeckt – eine Bühne geben. Es ist eine Win-Win-Situation: Wir feiern die Musik gemeinsam und teilen sie mit der Welt.
