Dennis Cruz continues his standout run-of-form in 2021 with the release of his latest single, What U Doing. Soon-to-appear on his forthcoming album, Roots, the single is a collaboration with UK singer-songwritwer Leo Wood and includes a remix by iconic German house producer Mousse T.

Two worlds come together in perfect harmony, as the five-minute number gets underway with shimmering bell chimes and Leo’s soothing vocal offerings. Dennis’ influence soon arrives, taking the form of a punchy, four-four bassline whilst echoing synths purr intermittently in the background. Mousse T ́s 'Deep Shizzle' Extended Remix brings things to a feel-good close, with upbeat piano rolls residing atop euphoric chords to create a dancefloor cut that you can’t help but smile to.

German house hero Mousse T created some of house’s most-lauded tracks in the late nineties to noughties, whilst in recent times his remixes of Selace, Camelphat, Moloko, Mike Dunn and Wankelmut have been met with widespread industry acclaim.

Legendary house producer Milk & Sugar returns with an exciting reinterpretation of his timeless club hit "Higher & Higher". This time, none other than the Berlin DJ and producer Daniel Steinberg is behind the controls, who has given the classic from the early 2000s a modern, fresh sound design.

With his unmistakable sense of groove and minimalism, Daniel Steinberg brings a completely new dynamic to the track. The energy of the original is retained, but the new edition gains depth and sophistication through subtle tech house elements, crisp percussion and deeper basslines. Steinberg, known for his genre-bending productions and releases on labels such as Arms & Legs and Defected, brings "Higher & Higher" a driving, contemporary sound that will delight both die-hard house fans and new listeners.

The original, which conquered dance floors worldwide, is still considered one of house music's milestones and cemented Milk & Sugar's reputation as pioneers of the genre. With Steinberg's remix, the musical journey of "Higher & Higher" is catapulted into the next generation without losing the track's iconic vibes.

The remix will be available on all common streaming platforms and as a download from December 13, 2024.

Club trends come and go, but Daniel Steinberg has been a constant creative force in electronic music for well over a decade. One of Berlin's most celebrated house & techno practitioners, Steinberg is a dance floor specialist with an ear for infectious hooks and addictive grooves.   

He's connected with some of the most well known names in electronic music, having remixed Claptone, Felix Da Housecat and Oliver Dollar. His own productions have been remixed by Roman Fluegel, Derrick Carter, 808 State, Crazy P, Paul Johnson, Nick Holder, DJ W!LD to name but a few. 

Steinberg's early output arrived on Jesse Rose's Front Room label with a string of releases including the latin house hit 'Bailando' and his debut album 'Shut up'. The focus shifted in 2011 to his own Arms & Legs imprint through which he released his subsequent albums 'Treptow' and 'Left-Handed' and club classics 'Joy & Happiness' and 'Let Me Down' that was re-released on Defected with a chart topping remix from Tube & Berger.

His DJ-ing has been similarly heralded having built a reputation as an artist who delivers serious fun to the dance floor. Daniel has played peak-time slots across the globe including Panorama Bar Berlin, Rex Club Paris, Baum Bogota, DC310 Mexico City, Razzamatazz Barcelona, Wire Festival Japan, Fusion Festival Germany. See him in a behind the decks and you'll immediately know why, his energy is infectious and his skill undeniable as he weaves together own brand of fun-fuelled house and techno, full of sly creative winks.
