The world has experienced the pang of violence time and again in history. During the 20th Century, under Communist Regimes, it witnessed the most horrendous visage of bloodshed with estimated killings of about 100 million people around the globe.
Humanity gasped a breath of despair amidst the brutal mass killings, genocide, war, famines and diseases.
It was during these times slogans like “Power comes from the barrel of the gun” made its circulation among the masses. There is another popular saying that has sunk and remained in my heart strongly. It goes like this - “Violence has turned the wheel of history”.
This is a saying that quickly becomes an ideology in the minds of many people. We can see people’s tremendous faith in violence. They believe with the help of bloodshed they can achieve anything.
This song is a direct counter-work against this ideology. It is a claim by the author of love Himself that not violence but LOVE has turned the wheel of history. HE enters into history to extinguish the power of violence by absorbing it in Himself, once for all. To celebrate this person called “True Love”, I humbly give you “Manai Hoon Maya”.
