it's almost poetic.  Wolfwood lived a life disregarding other's lives.  now he wants others to specially regard his own.

It's sad... because the paradise we long for is the same one that Wolfwood longs for. He wants to be in the same place that Vash idealizes a place with no war and no stealing.... a perfect place... but that place isn't here. The things that make us human and individual separate us from a perfection like that. So when he's dying and trying to figure out the purpose of his inevitability makes him wonder if everything he tried to do was worth it... he questions the moral choices he made. But that's all of us... in a way we want someone to validate our existence. And sometimes that's not always possible. Our "right and wrong" comes down to a spur of the moment. And when that moment is over we just want someone to hug us and tell us we did a good job... even if that can't happen.

We're just hopeless... helpless to the inevitable defeat that life is fleeting and what we want to do with that opportunity to help others and do the right thing is often wasted on our own selfish ideals of right and wrong. But ... that's a good cigarette yah know? That's for damn sure...
