HgB-17: Various Artists - Refraction of Light (Digital Compilation)

Refraction of Light encompasses a swarm of sonic apparitions from 17 geographically linked artists. The compilation glides through an array of mesmerizing sounds; from slithering trance and crystalline techno to surrealistic DnB and entrancing electronica. A vast collection of moods spanning dawn to dusk.

The HgB capsule emerges on Amniote Editions on 23rd June. The artwork is designed by Camilla Louisa.

Amniote Editions acknowledges this EP was put together on the land of the Woiwurrung & Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land and pay our respects to their elders past, and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.

10% of profits from this compilation will be donated to Black Rainbow, a national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Sistergirl and Brotherboy (LGBQTI+SB) organisation in the pursuit of positive health and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBQTI+SB*.

Now it's finally time to uncover the first release of Artaphine Records. Here two worlds collide creating various shapes in between. On one hand we have Tom Place, who is more known for his breakbeat excursions on Childsplay and Fly By Night, while Clotur takes more of a dive into the deep and groovy style of techno that resulted in releases on Counterchange and his own label Warok. 

Kicking off the EP with the solo track from Tom Place, setting off with the same pace as 'Tearing Down Your Walls', released on our VA last year. After that 'Melting Shapes' hits the perfect example of finding balance between artists with different production styles. With 'Object Model', the artists take the offbeat excursion while Clotur closes the EP with a 9-minute journey to the various corners of his production skills.
