This is the 117th Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. These monthly released sessions brings you the best and the most diversity Ambient music can offer. This month Daniel Filipovic takes us back with his mixtape to the Southern Lights Label night @ Arkaoda, Berlin where the set was recorded.


About: 
Daniel Filipovic is the founder and co-curator of Naarm (Melbourne) and Amsterdam label, Southern Lights. Southern Lights exists to nurture emerging and established artists that push the boundaries of dark and elemental music by providing a platform to release high quality, thoughtfully designed physical editions of recordings and digital works.
As a DJ, his sets are a reflection of how he curates the label: taking in all things esoteric and forward thinking; from ambient, drone and dub-infused sounds through to raw, hypnotic and experimental techno.

About the set:
The mix is an all-vinyl set recorded at the Southern Lights Label Night held at Arkaoda, Berlin in March 2024, supporting live sets from Mattia Onori and Katatonic Silentio.

Daniel Filipovic curates Southern Lights, a vinyl imprint focused on releasing modern, hypnotic Techno and electronic sounds, showcasing Australian artists and key international talent. The first three releases for 2016 will see EP’s released by Craig McWhinney, Ground Loop and a debut EP by DRYAD, complimented by remixes from Eric Cloutier, PVS and Fabrizio Lapiana.
As a DJ, Filipovic in known for blurring the lines between Electronica, House and Techno - an experience he shares with party goers at label nights & beyond.

September 16th (2011) saw tastemaker and Pinksilver custodian Daniel Filipovic open TEA & MACHINE's night with Stroboscopic Artefacts boss Lucy, up stairs at the Royal Melbourne.

Daniel Filipovic introduced the night with stellar set of lowly paced dub techno cuts intertwined seamlessly between some moody selections of the house variety, the dark acidic licks of Move D's Aspiration 2010 was a personal highlight.
