 Cuando los niños Mbuti (pigmeos) cumplen de 9 a 12 años pasan por un ritual de iniciación llamado Nkumbi. El comienzo del Nkumbi se da con la internación de los jóvenes en la selva durante meses donde ocupan su tiempo en la caza, pesca y otros que que permiten la subsistencia. Este proceso se vive siempre acompañado del "canto" que les permite desarrollar un lenguaje singular con el bosque , una comunicación viva que mantiene un vinculo fundamental con el ecosistema que les rodea.

Jo, chanteur, auteur, la note et le sait déjà, il tient là les prémices d'une chanson. Ce va et vient humide, ce cheval de brouillard qui hennit au loin, ce beat reptilien, la forme est à la fois entraînante, sensuelle, .. psychédélique.

Les Fils du Calvaire est un trio parisien (Jo, Damien et Clément), aujourd'hui partagé entre la capitale hexagonale et Berlin.

Ils sont aussi les créateurs de l'hybride électronique dOP signé sur Circus Company, le label ayant sorti le premier album de Nicolas Jaar.

« Rester avec toi » est le 1er extrait de « Fils de », le 1er album des Fils du Calvaire qui paraîtra début 2016.

Hello again,

Presenting a special treat for you as spring begins to move into summer - the now annual three hour journey mix to help our friends at Afterhours.fm celebrate their anniversary, and congratulations to them for eleven years on the air. 

I have been collating pieces for this set since the turn of the year, and hopefully the build of deep progressive at 125 to the uplifting moments of 135 is a journey you will appreciate and enjoy, with a mixture of current favorites and a few classics to remember. I may have deliberately thrown in some brand new sneaky IDs as well, but I am terrible for always doing that. :)
