A Measurement of Darkness WIP

A vibrant flow of colors, that's how ho describe a rainbow. But nobody knows what's beyond of it...maybe a pot of gold, or maybe another treasure.
The musical flow of notes can also form a kind of rays of colors...abundant, intimate, soft, radiant. This improvisation gives me the feeling of a musical rainbow.

Above the kingdom of Daventry is the Realm of the Sun, where magical beings called Archons protect the Mask of Eternity. The mask is an artifact that upholds truth, light and rank. Its leader Lucreto, however, becomes evil and shatters the mask into pieces. When a piece of the mask falls at the feet of a humble tanner named Connor Maclyrr, he picks it up and everyone in the kingdom of Daventry turns to stone and the land is sickened.

To collect all the shards of the Mask of Eternity, Connor must travel through a variety of topographically different lands. These include:

The Kingdom of Daventry is the land where Connor owns his house and where his royal quest begins. Here he encounters a wizard who offers him instructions on how to find the remaining pieces of the Mask of Eternity.
The Dimension of Death is ruled by Lord Azriel and serves as a pseudo-purgatory where souls await their judgment. This land is located in a plane outside of any other possible land in the game, and consequently Connor must find the gates to access it. After breaking the Mask of Eternity, the mission of the universe was wiped out accordingly, and the skeletal soldiers of Lord Azriel became unruly and rebellious. Thus, it becomes part of Connor's mission to suppress the Ascension.
The swamp carries within its borders a part of the Mask of Eternity. Although the swamp is not far from the kingdom of Daventry, the Lucreto disaster caused obstacles to block the road to the swamp. Consequently, Connor must first travel through The Dimension of Death to reach the swamp and obtain another shard of the mask.
The underground realm of the Gnomes consists mainly of tunnels underneath the mountain south of the swamp. During his journey, Connor meets the Gnomes who are struggling to restore an exit above their underground home.
The barren area is located above the Gnomes' underground realm and at the base of a volcano. It can be accurately characterized by its abundance of lava flows and the dry, hot terrain. Before the catastrophe, the inhabitants of this region regularly traded with those people who lived at the top of the volcano.
The Frozen Realms are the cold lands at the top of the volcano that encircles a lake of icy water. It is inhabited by the snow nymphs, ice orcs and gryphs.
Paradise Lost is a small collapse crater near the frozen lands and has the shape of a stone circle, which serves as a gateway to the Realm of the Sun.
The Realm of the Sun, like the Dimension of Death, is not physically connected to any other part of the world in which Connor's quest takes place. The land was a repository of the Mask of Eternity and is the site to which Connor should return all of his broken shards. It is here that Connor confronts Lucreto to determine his decisive fate.
At the beginning of the game, the half-stone wizard Connor meets summons a magic map for him that shows him all the areas he has already explored. Besides, it allows Connor to teleport between lands, once the teleportation points of each land (except the Empire from the Sun) have been opened.

Al tempo meravigliosamente perso insieme is the closing track of the album Tu che mi puoi capire.
It is a solo piano improvisation conceived as a reflection on La vita che grida, and it completes a small suite together with the symphonic version of that piece.
The music unfolds as a free improvisation on the theme, gradually finding its own form and direction, until it reaches a final quotation from Non mi rompete by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.
This quotation is not a citation for homage alone, but a gesture of continuity, a bridge between personal memory, collective imagination, and the history of Italian progressive music.
This piece is meant as a closing moment of listening, a suspended time, where reflection, memory, and sound remain together for a while longer, before silence returns.

Al tempo meravigliosamente perso insieme è il brano di chiusura dell’album Tu che mi puoi capire.
Si tratta di un’improvvisazione pianistica sul tema de La vita che grida, e completa una piccola suite insieme alla versione sinfonica del brano.
La musica nasce come improvvisazione libera, si muove attorno al tema, lo attraversa e lo lascia emergere progressivamente, fino a concludersi con una citazione di Non mi rompete del Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.
Non è una citazione puramente celebrativa, ma un gesto di continuità, un ponte tra memoria personale, immaginario collettivo e storia della musica progressiva italiana.
È un brano pensato come tempo di chiusura e di ascolto sospeso, uno spazio in cui suono, memoria e riflessione restano insieme ancora per un momento, prima del silenzio.

Daniela Spadini is an Italian pianist and composer, she studied classical piano from a young age. Her passion for the piano began when she was only two years old and at the age of 7 she began her musical journey with two different teachers. Constant study leads her to take some exams at the conservatory “G.B. Pergolesi”.
 
The sudden death of her teacher with whom he had built up a great affection, leaves an indelible mark on her life which also affects the continuation of her studies. She abandoned the classical studies and became a chorister in the polyphonic choir dedicated to dear teacher and she had the opportunity to give concerts in Italy and in Europe.
 
In 2014 She began a new musical journey approaching modern composers and began writing her original compositions. She has collaborated with Italian and foreign artists and she performed in piano-bar and pubblic exibitions. One of her composition “Tango lento” be used in a few dance school.
 
Some of her compositions have been used to create advertising videos.
