Losoul is without a doubt one of the more elusive legends of house music. Over the last 25 years he has been forging ahead expressing his own ideas of outstanding club music that not only satisfies the vibe of the dance floor but also takes risks, asks for interaction and demands personal exposure: energetic and ambivalent at the same time.

Since the mid nineties, when Losoul teamed up with the legendary Playhouse label crew, he has continuously developed and refined his characteristic style of house music that captures the essence of the groove while honoring the open spaces between. With this style he is still building bridges between the founders and the following generations of electronic music lovers. The extent of his mastery is evidenced through his comprehensive catalogue of releases on various imprints such as Logistic Rec., Hartchef, Hypercolour, Karat, Tardis and of course his own label Another Picture (founded in 2014).

The two distinctive tracks featured on this Slices Of Life release perfectly represent Losoul’s years of experiences in producing, technical developments and worldwide touring as DJ. Proving once again his particular skills and laid-back attitude yet sounding fresh and thrilling at the same time. 

“Ghost Talk” is reminiscent of Losoul’s driving minimal productions of the ‘90s with its trippy atmosphere and spooky morphing voices. “Idealist Jungle” on the B-side leads us into a green, sweaty twilight zone, accompanied by continuously rolling beats and warm basslines.

Like most of Losoul’s productions “Ghost Talk” and “Idealist Jungle” evolve slowly and steadily build their energy over the long distance. Once started you are all at once captivated by the pulsing deep grooves and psychedelic atmospheres and locked into the seductive journey.

Number twelve in our Break 3000 revisited classics series looks back at the House tracks made in Berlin. The cool jam "New Soul" was released on Dirt Crew Recordings as part of the "Deep Love 2" compilation in 2012. The spacey "Solaris" and dubby "Dopamine" are unreleased pearls we found on an old hard disk and both were produced in the period between 2008 and 2012. Now freshly remastered they sound really nice actually :) hope you Enjoy!

Hailing from the vibrant shores of Puerto Madryn, Argentina, Daniela Cast is an DJ and producer whose life has been steeped in the harmonious embrace of music and art. Born in 1985, her destiny was shaped at a tender age of 3 when she stumbled upon her godfather’s vintage record collection – an enchanting encounter that kindled her lifelong love affair with music and vinyl. Those early days, spent tickling the ivory keys of a school piano during breaks, were merely prologue to the captivating voyage that awaited her.  Fast forward to 2010, and she embarked on her journey as a professional DJ, igniting dance floors with her infectious energy and innovative sounds.

At the age of 15, Daniela moved to the United States, where her love for music blossomed under the influence the rich cultural diversity of the country.

In 2007, she returned to Argentina, dedicating herself to her academic pursuits. Daniela studied Graphic Design at the University of Champagnat, earning her college degree and laying the foundation for her creative endeavors.

In 2011, Daniela's passion for music led her to further her education at EMBA (School of Music in Buenos Aires). Here, she delved deeper into the intricacies of sound, enhancing her already well-rounded musical background.

Daniela Cast's DJ sets are an eclectic fusion of minimal,  house, techno, and all that lies in between. Groove is her signature, pulsating through every beat and defining the essence of her mixes. Daniela's sessions bring a serious yet energetic vibe to the dance floor. With intricate rhythms, deep grooves, deep basslines, and a clear club orientation, her sets captivate audiences and keep the dancefloor always alive and moving, creating a groove that transcends genres. Whether spinning vinyl or crafting her own productions, Daniela creates an electrifying atmosphere, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all.

In her musical explorations, she delves into analog machines, crafting compositions pulsating with energy and authenticity. Seamlessly blending techno, house, and funk with hip-hop inspired melodies, her tracks captivate with deep bass lines and dynamic percussion lines. With analog synthesizers as her tools, she creates captivating sounds, enticing bodies to dance and minds to wander.

In 2013, she embarked on a new chapter in Europe, starting in Barcelona, where she held a residency at Reckon parties. Now calling Berlin home for six years, Daniela has become a fixture at renowned venues like Club Der Visionaere and Hoppetosse. Her influence extends across continents, with performances in clubs from America to Australia, including S.A.S.H. in Sydney and Breakfast Club in Melbourne.

In 2019, Daniela took her passion to new heights, founding Cat Hat Records and hosting her own parties at Berlin's beloved Club Der Visionaere. These events have become synonymous with smiles and full-on vibes, marking Daniela as a driving force in Berlin's electronic music scene.

A constant presence in the electronic scene, Daniela's music has been a staple, her commitment to quality unwavering, and her groove infectious. With an ever-evolving sound that transcends borders and genres, Daniela Cast is a force to be reckoned with in the global electronic music scene. Her journey, marked by consistency, innovation, and a deep connection with her audience, continues to shape the future of sound.
