Maybe it’s just a coincidence or maybe it’s actually a necessity to have your roots in a steel-producing town like Sandviken to acquire a deep enough longing for somewhere else, if you happen to be dreamy, alternative guys who play music. YAST, the lo-fi romantics, are just that.
 
In 2013 they finally released their self titled debut album together with a string of glimmering singles. "Believes", "Strangelife", "Stupid", "I Wanna Be Young” and ”YAST” took them to distant bloggs and caotic venues all around the world. A better international respons on a debut album is hard to find. 

Now 2 years later they are now back with a new single, the first taste of the upcoming second album due for fall.

Regulars will be very happy to learn that Tessellate are now launching a label, featuring artists and friends they have booked and met over the years.

Their first 12" comes courtesy of Firmin, a new alias of one of the Tessellate regulars - we'll leave it to you to work out who on earth that might be! 'Energetic Solution' is a brilliant debut release for the label, with a pair of originals backed by Brassica and Moscoman remixes. We're premiering 'La Selva', a beautiful sunrise-ready deep house cut which unfurls gracefully over the course of its 8 minutes.

R&S welcomes Acid Mondays for a 12" of lysergic house music that reaches far into the outer cosmos. 
Formed "somewhere in the 5th dimension” Acid Mondays is the cosmic coalition of fellow psychonauts Negghead (Dan Ward) and Lex Wolf (Alex Wolfenden).  

Repeated transformative visits to Ibiza culminated in landing regular slots at Circoloco where they have been testing this tune in the dance all Summer long. 

‘Universal Rhythm’, their latest interstellar dispatch and debut on R&S is their finest work to date. An anthemic paean to the cosmos that features an impassioned spoken word missive from shamanistic MC Shovell, impressively recorded in a single take, making the case for the universality of experience and oneness of all beings.  

Latin rhythms fuse with a driving Fender Rhodes lick (provided by JD73) and percolating cow bells to hypnotic effect. This calls to mind a combination of classic Carl Craig and Villalobos at his most playful. R&S new signing The Maghreban supplies a killer dubbed out take on the original that strips away the heavy kicks and pumps up the percussion, hurtling the synth pads to the fore that comes on like John Carpenter peaking on MDMA.

Acid Mondays - Universal Rhythm

Slow and smooth build up with an intense but mellow peak that just goes on and on. It fills you with empathy and intense sensation heightening. SWIM smoked a joint halfway through and melted into the couch. It’s perfect for a rolling party with a group of friends, though SWIM imagines it would be great for a proper party too. Sometimes SWIM felt like dancing, but spent most of the time staring into space. This is really nice, intense, smooth and mellow. Get ahold of these if you get the chance!

The water was powerful and vivid, each burst crashed against the shore with distinct force. After the hundredth wave came the pouring rain and a rogue breeze from the north. The storm had finally arrived. The television had warned that the weather would be fierce and dangerous, that they must stay indoors and not venture outside for the sake of their own wellbeing. Still one or two brave souls stood alongside the boulevard, watching as the apocalypse hit. This was to be the end of the world they'd said, at least for now. 

Rhode & Brown's 'Wave 100' EP was a highlight of last year, deep with a homage to the classic era of Italian dream house. Now they have curated a number of heavy hitting remixes of the EP featuring Bell Towers, C.K., Mr. Ho and Bostro Pesopeo. A highly recommended package.
