Summer’s here, and following their late winter-early spring installment, the Marble Players Para One, Bobmo and Surkin have something warmer and easier to show you. This is the Marble Summer EP.

« Let You Go » is just the bomb. A feeling from nineties hedonistic, horny French dance music is definitely on, complete with multiple vocals from the goddessess of joy, engaged in a dialogue with each other about what they’re gonna do after sunset. The bass has massive feel-good-feel-cool potential while the strings and keys are making the whole thing lightly deeper and briefly romantic. An exhilarating triumph of emotional confusion, miraculously enclosed in one single club hit.

« Paris is Burning » opens up with a sample from the eponymous classic documentary movie about NYC vogue scene in the late eighties. The track itself is all feverish pumping beats and in-your-face bass, infused with a vintage NYC Tenaglia/Vasquez dark, tribal feeling. Get ready Ibiza. Get ready Miami. Get ready, World.

« Wipe Out » is the summer riddim, a juvenile Riviera cousin of « Marble Anthem » or « Girly ». Glittering vocal bits and bittersweet organ chords switch to big deafening bass, hi-res dominatrix synths and punishing electrofunk beats. Just let yourself whip by the heat.

« Minute of Love » is just what it says except it’s actually three minutes and a half. It’s a midtempo house ballad featuring gliding keyboard washes, clavinova stabs and melancholy whistles, reactivating a long-lost summer rammed with hazy sex sensations and life-changing reflective lights. A soundtrack for the end of love – or for its very beginning.

Club Cheval’s Canblaster reworks Sound Pellegrino’s first love song, released last summer—by the young Surkin and his hero Todd Edwards who since this sung “Fragments Of Time” on the last Daft Punk album—with the addition of his signature ingredient: an inimitable sense of harmony and unveiling an entire first verse that didn’t make the original cut.

As it celebrates its fourth anniversary, the label founded by Teki Latex & Orgasmic takes us on a tour of Europe’s up and coming talents in the form of a collective album of 13 new tracks by the label’s core artists, France’s finest and a cast drawing from 14 cities in 9 countries. A gamble on the new faces of electronic music whose talents should permeate into the pop music of years to come.

SND.PE vol. 01 (pronounce “Sound Pé volume one”) is Sound Pellegrino’s first full-length effort. The label was founded in 2009 by Teki Latex and Orgasmic as a digital platform to share the pair’s club crushes in no time. These two founding members of seminal alt-rap group TTC have known each other for about 20 years and have released countless collaborations. Going through various musical phases, they have always kept a will to explore forward-thinking dance music that will make the crowd go crazy without sounding stale and outdated.

Over 13 tracks, the label gathers its core artists (Teki Latex, Orgasmic, Matthias Zimmermann, Nicolas Malinowsky), sharpest collaborators (Maelstrom, Surkin, Todd Edwards, TWR72), it’s oldest friends (Modeselektor, Jean Nipon, Koyote), the most impressive talents in Europe (Eero Johannes, Ben Butler & Mousepad, The Phantom), France’s young blood (123Mrk, K-Lagane) and renews with the spirit of the “Crossover Series” project, pairing talent for a one-off EP on the label.

After four years scouting the World and the virtual streets for new sounds to share with their fellow DJs—resulting in the 35 EPs already available on Sound Pellegrino—Teki Latex & Orgasmic have crafted this very special package for a larger audience willing to make the jump into their network. A dancing and futuristic voyage of sorts, informed by all mutant sub-genre as well as mainstream expressions, starting with an irresistible, pulsating opening theme: “Still Moving” by Ben Butler & Mousepad, hailing from Glasgow and freshly signed on the label.

Revered producer and composer Daniel Avery returns with a new album and live show, his most ambitious works to date. Channelling every corner of his sound, Tremor is a bold and transportive body of work through euphoric shoegaze, submerged techno, ambient soundscape and industrial bliss. It remains unmistakably Avery, yet dramatically evolved.


With the album Avery has welcomed an inspiring cast of collaborators, including the likes of Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Walter Schreifels (Quicksand / Rival Schools), bdrmm, Julie Dawson (NewDad), yeule, Ellie, Art School Girlfriend, yunè pinku, and Cecile Believe. Each artist leaves their indelible mark, yet the record’s true power lies in the communal spirit at its core.

“This is a living and breathing collective,” says Avery. “Since the earliest recordings, Tremor felt like a studio in the sky, a space in time through which we could all pass as artists”, he reflects. “It’s the welcoming spirit of acid house with the doors flung open wider still to allow in every influence from my musical journey: the warmth of distortion, the stillness inside intensity, the transcendental beauty of noise... They have always been there in my music but now it feels like those ideas are being transmitted in Technicolor. This is a record for the post-rave comedown kids, the guitar heads and anyone else who wants to come along for the ride. Everyone is welcome.”

Tremor will be released by Avery’s new home of Domino on 31st October.
