We celebrate Jürgen Paape with “Kompilation”. A well deserved opportunity to hear Jürgen Paape for fans and newcomers – revived and remastered and for the very first time on double vinyl – in a way that it plays through like a full length album. Some of the biggest moments of Kompakt over a three decade history are here; the chorus of “So Weit Wie Noch Nie” remains timeless – there to send shivers of pleasure down your spine as we feel at the end of exhaustive end of a night. “Take That” is an anthem for the still to be built rock stadiums of tomorrow. It’s a bonafide hit that put him in the charts in Australia and Italy. – “Come Into My Life” remains undeniably one of Kompakt’s catchiest pop tracks ever. “So Wird Die Zeit Gemacht” – builds on Paape’s signature sound with the spirit and vitality of classic house and a truly demented vocal hook. “This EP was made after I realised that what inspired me most was to combine my love of electronic music with the music I enjoy outside of the club. I decided to collaborate with friends from a couple of my favourite bands, including Fay Milton (Savages) who provides live drums on Motorik Bush Doof Musik and Taigen Kawabe (Bo Ningen) who performs on I Never Cared That Much For Jungle. For me, having live instrumentation on the EP adds an extra depth to the tracks & has given me a vision of how to I’d like future releases to sound.
My fave track off the EP, Growing Up With Muscle Cars, is an homage to my step dad who repairs and restores old muscle cars. He also used to take me to the drags in my hometown when I was little. We would push the race cars out onto the track. Some of my favourite memz as a lil kid.”

Following an expansive discography of LPs on Warp from 2001 to 2017, the latest release from acclaimed British producer Clark sees him self-releasing an album for the first time on his own label Throttle Records. Titled Kiri Variations the fourteen-track album is an extension on his score work he produced for BAFTA-nominated TV drama Kiri back in 2018. Having delved into world of scoring for film and TV back in 2016 with the soundtrack for crime-thriller The Last Panthers, he's taken to the versatility of this type of work with ease. Clark's music, even if sparingly, has always had quite emotive themes and on Kiri, his use of piano, harpsichord, clarinet, strings, electronics and his own voice paints a wonderfully melancholic narrative. We caught up with Clark to discuss the work put into Kiri Variations, his performance at the Royal Albert Hall, the transitional two second 'holy points' in his productions and how producing music for horror films is one of the most satisfying things you could ever do as a producer. His Truancy Volume, a sonic extension of his recent scores, is a riveting tapestry of organic instrumentation. Incredibly coherent yet polarising at points, his embrace of recent acoustic sources can be heard throughout. Shuttling through haunting modern classical and folktronica to the trance-induced productions of Lorenzo Senni, it's an overlap of two circles both firing up emotion. As Clark puts himself  - "We live in a post-genre era, it's good to take advantage of that."

Revered producer and composer Daniel Avery returns with a new album and live show, his most ambitious works to date. Channelling every corner of his sound, Tremor is a bold and transportive body of work through euphoric shoegaze, submerged techno, ambient soundscape and industrial bliss. It remains unmistakably Avery, yet dramatically evolved.


With the album Avery has welcomed an inspiring cast of collaborators, including the likes of Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Walter Schreifels (Quicksand / Rival Schools), bdrmm, Julie Dawson (NewDad), yeule, Ellie, Art School Girlfriend, yunè pinku, and Cecile Believe. Each artist leaves their indelible mark, yet the record’s true power lies in the communal spirit at its core.

“This is a living and breathing collective,” says Avery. “Since the earliest recordings, Tremor felt like a studio in the sky, a space in time through which we could all pass as artists”, he reflects. “It’s the welcoming spirit of acid house with the doors flung open wider still to allow in every influence from my musical journey: the warmth of distortion, the stillness inside intensity, the transcendental beauty of noise... They have always been there in my music but now it feels like those ideas are being transmitted in Technicolor. This is a record for the post-rave comedown kids, the guitar heads and anyone else who wants to come along for the ride. Everyone is welcome.”

Tremor will be released by Avery’s new home of Domino on 31st October.
