Following outings on Rinse FM and HOR, German producer Rove Ranger takes aim on the next release of Lobster Theremin’s full-blooded techno assault; 4 very different cuts of pulsating, bass-driven techno that have one eye in the rear view mirror and the other firmly fixated ahead.

‘CS80’ is an aquatic, rhythmic experience; bubbling with blues, greens and pinks in a techno climate so often associated with grey. A beautiful blend of the new and old school. Tough, but with a touch of soul. ‘Millennial Millenium’ is a blissful trip through neighbouring underworlds and spirit hollows, unrelenting kicks and ghostly atmospherics crafting a cut of psychedelic graveyard techno.

‘La Manana’ is more of a heads-down affair. Punchy bass accompanies the kicks on a track that instantly captivates; less concerned with emotion and more with increasing heart rates; it's a tripped-out, bouncy experience that screams fun. The EP is rounded off with ‘Horse On Acid’. Have you ever seen a horse on acid? We have, and this is exactly what it sounded like.

There was an orange haze which hung thick over the mountain region. The shadows of the hillside were dense and black as the sun went down over the 1-5 South. Cars began to activate their headlights, blinking flashes scattered up and down the freeway as they raced along the coastal route. The air was humid and the car was hot and stuffy on the inside. He turned up the radio and rolled down the window as he pushed hard on the pedal and whizzed off at a wicked pace. This was the outback region and each engine was out for itself. 

D.Dan is set to release a fast and furious EP on Lobster Theremin, the London based record label run by Jimmy Asquith. The imprint has often acted as an outlet for the rougher more rugged fringes of dance music and this is no different. A techno, rave extravaganza with punch and promise.

'hot steel'  is back on трип!

For the second round in the series, the idea remains the same - Nina Kraviz announces the stream date and sends out a call to artists for their unreleased music to oidodekraviz@gmail.com, all genres are welcome. After the stream takes place, the favourite tracks are signed and a few weeks later a digital only 'hot steel' compilation is released.

The second hot steel stream took place in Mykonos' Cavo Paradiso and results into another multitalented, high octane and unique 21 track compilation.

Revered producer and composer Daniel Avery returns with a new album and live show, his most ambitious works to date. With the album Avery has welcomed an inspiring cast of collaborators, including the likes of Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Walter Schreifels (Quicksand / Rival Schools), bdrmm, Julie Dawson (NewDad), yeule, Ellie, Art School Girlfriend, yunè pinku, and Cecile Believe. Each artist leaves their indelible mark, yet the record’s true power lies in the communal spirit at its core.

“This is a living and breathing collective,” says Avery. “Since the earliest recordings, Tremor felt like a studio in the sky, a space in time through which we could all pass as artists”, he reflects. “It’s the welcoming spirit of acid house with the doors flung open wider still to allow in every influence from my musical journey: the warmth of distortion, the stillness inside intensity, the transcendental beauty of noise... They have always been there in my music but now it feels like those ideas are being transmitted in Technicolor. Tremor will be released by Avery’s new home of Domino on 31st October.
