Red Light Kimchi Hero

Already in 2009 Tyrone Noonan has wowed audiences in England, Ireland and Australia ....... now it’s New York’s turn. 

Tyrone Noonan co-fronted multi platinum-selling, No 1-charting Australian band george and is now ready to step up globally with his debut solo album I Believe. 

The story begins with george building a huge following from 1996 until 2005. The band’s first album Polyserena entered the Australian charts at No 1, going platinum within three weeks and remaining in the Top 10 for 15 weeks (double platinum), after releasing several successful indie EPs. 

george went forward releasing Unity in 2004, entering at No 5 (gold) on the Australian charts 
before going into hiatus, so members could pursue individual projects. 

For Tyrone, the first of these was Palimpsest, his debut jazz CD featuring a national tour, 
rave reviews and licensing for top UK Nu Jazz compilations, followed by Heavy Soul Part 1, 
released late 2006. The radio-friendly yet deeply personal mini-album featured the iTunes Single 
of the Week You Know.  

He toured extensively on the back of the release's success, including Peat’s Ridge and Woodford 
festivals. Audience reaction resulted in Tyrone  being invited to perform and sing the national 
anthem at Australia’s National Soccer Grand Final in Melbourne.

Australian music publication Beat Magazine said: “Heavy Soul Pt 1 is a solid offering for Noonan fans and a good enticer for those ready to discover him away from the safety net of george.” 

Jumping forward to 2010 and Tyrone is ready to follow up with the St Paul Peterson (Prince, Stevie Wonder, Steve Miller) co-produced I Believe. Mixed by Grammy-winning Steve Hodge, the album has been gaining praise from those who have heard the promos. 

Of the single contender Tight Black Dress, Emmis Communications’ VP of Programming Jimmy Steal said: “I really like it. Sticky hooks.” 

2010 includes a focus on developing the US market and returning to the UK  to follow up sellout 08-09 shows in London and build a presence on Europe’s festival circuit. 

I Believe encapsulates flawless US, UK and Australian influences. Think Lenny Kravtiz meets Coldplay.  It is an international record with limitless capabilities, fusing an evocative mix of pop, rock, soul, funk and reggae. 

Tyrone has performed to 1.8 billion (Rugby World Cup), conducted sell-out tours of Australia, UK, Ireland  and Japan, and supported world-class artists as diverse as Macy Gray, Jewel and Tori Amos.

HOTN Ep.1 (7 Days to Die)

On Chinese New Year this year, I cooked a pot of curry rice for the week, which is what most of the students who are far away from home do to save money and do meal prep. While taking each bite and listening to some Taiwanese music, I couldn’t help but let my tears fall. I miss home. 

So I decided to transform that emotion into this song. Curry Rice is a very common dish in most of the Asian family. However, each parent’s curry rice could vary due to the recipe. The only thing that doesn’t change is the LOVE they put in for their family. 

This song is not just my story. It belongs to those who travel far away from home to pursue their dream. It can be tough, it can be lonely, and you might want to give up from time to time. But please always remember you are loved. And there always will be someone waiting for you to share a bowl of curry rice. 

This is my first song ever being published. I don’t have any budget, but I am lucky to have two awesome and talented friends who helped me to accomplish this song. I am very grateful for you, Sheng and Emily.
