Daddy Disco Sundays, BUNKER DC | Aug. 6th, 2k23 (Part 1)

Part 2 of my Sunday Daddy Disco set from BUNKER In Washington DC (Aug. 6th, 2k23)... this was honestly a very difficult set for me to play. It followed a celebration of life for a person who was a member of the BUNKER family; he was a new friend in my life... and someone whose wedding I had played just one year earlier. The doors opened to the public at 9 p.m. when many of his closest friends and loved ones were still gathered. It was very difficult for me to find a balance between getting the party going and thinking about trying to honor his memory. I ended the set on a special somewhat somber note, in tribute to him. I'd like to send special love and appreciation through this set to all of my incredible DC family.

Let me introduce my new Halloween alter ego... Disco Demon 😈

This guy has some of my normal sound of house and disco, but took a turn into some darker techier beats and borderline techno. What a fun time playing at the house parties for Halloween weekend in Atlanta. 

This set I had to split into two parts. Part 1 Starts off with one of my fav genres of afro house and slowly builds into some house party grooves. Big thanks to everyone that came to party and vibed with me. You know I feed off your energy so thank you and love you always!

Disco Demon Halloween 2024 Part 1

Part 2 of my set at Flagging In The Desert, benefitting the Palm Springs AIDS Memorial!

If you haven't been, it is an amazing event - the mountains, the sun, and of course the flaggers, which were so appreciative and supportive!!

Of note in Part 2 is an almost-mashup I made of the My Marianne version of "Husavik", and the [Avicii/Leona Lewis] track "Collide".  Previously I've given My Marianne and Leona Lewis a brief duet, with happy results (they are both Cahill remixes in the same key).

But just for Flagging In The Desert, I decided to make something special - I've given them four duets - two foreshadowing the upcoming "Collide", one for the transition, and one last, lingering echo of "My Hometown..." at the end of "Collide".  Now I just need to get them to do it live! :-)
