Tall is the latest single from dazzling electronic music artist Nathassia. The song delves into the complexity of displaced body image growing up taller than her male counterparts being half Dutch and half Indian “They told me don’t stand up straight, don’t wear high heals, don’t wear short skirts. Don’t be taller than your boyfriend don’t be absurd”.

The idea for the single came about during her recent school & college tour to raise mental health awareness. One of the subjects she spoke about was her own experience of Body Image and how she used to be ashamed of her height. Nathassia explained that growing up she was the tallest in her Indian family because her father is Dutch. She used to have huge family parties in halls and when the moment came that everyone would move to the dance floor she would be the tallest on the floor sticking out above everyone.

"My family would worry and joke about it saying things like stop growing, you can never wear heals, we’re gonna have to find you a tall husband oh my gosh where are we going to find him! One fine day after moving to London I got the courage to buy my first high heels and proudly wear them to a family party where then surprisingly nobody said anything about my hight anymore but “nice shoes!”. I then decided to write a song about it, Tall"
