I had the joy of playing a sunny afternoon set 15:00-17:30 before Konduku, so I kept things bright & groovy 🌻🧚🌞

This set features some IDM, electro and minimal tracks I haven’t played out in years, alongside recent releases I’ve been enjoying.

The whole festival was beautifully programmed and curated, and I heard many inspiring sets throughout the weekend in the iconic grounds of the Castell De Montjuïc.

New SEMANTICA Compilation is about to bright and reflect on already well known directions explored by Svreca’s imprint. Despite the label efforts to hide from any sonic etiquette, still existing a core which will be the SEMANTICA sound identity for a time. Patrick Russell is a true veteran of the US underground, perhaps one of the last unsung heroes of a now lost era in the Midwest. A genuine sonic storyteller, he magically transforms the diaspora of acid, pure jack energy, and hints of IDM into a deep, fluent sonic dialog that never fails to devastate both minds and dance floor.

A Detroit-bred DJ, artist, and producer active since the early 90's, Patrick has now made New York City his home. Perhaps best known as a key figure in the legendary No Way Back parties, his ability to weave intensely unique, long-format narratives has earned him critical acclaim and repeat performances at Japan’s Labyrinth festival, Berghain, Unsound, and DEMF/Movement. Patrick has also been steadily building a strong catalog of high-profile productions to compliment his increasingly varied, hypnotic, and in-demand DJ sets; his recent 3-track remix EP on The Bunker New York also marks his induction as an official resident DJ at the long-running Brooklyn party.

His consummate taste and disciplined execution have created a respect that cannot be purchased. Patrick Russell is not just a name to watch, he is someone to be experienced.

Me and Ben thought it would be fun to play a long DJ set together at Globus, the upstairs floor at Tresor in Berlin. 
We last played together (as Frequency 7) in May 2013. This time we played a ‘back to back’ DJ set, I’m pretty sure playing 2 tracks each for the whole six and a half hour set. All we had in mind beforehand was to start with some Dub and ‘see where it goes’. 

It was a lot of fun so we wanted to share the recording with you.
