Swim Into Scarlet - Trophy

Another track from my early A-level Music Technology portfolio, this recording is a cover of the Zero 7 song from their most successful album 'Simple Things'. Due to the limitations of my college studio it was difficult to accurately emulate the original recording, however with a great tutor and access to some great musicians I was able to produce a result definitely worth putting up on here! (RELEASED JUNE 2009)

The production was heavily influenced by the work of Juno Reactor and in fact the majority of the Matrix soundtracks and incidental scores. Created during my A-level Music Technology assessment, I recorded samples of 3 or 4 differently pitched hand bell instruments and manipulated them into a melodic pattern (this was of course before I found out about sampler instruments!). I then reversed each individual audio sample and added a timed stereo delay effect that seems to create an interesting sound-scape that acted as the basis of the arrangement.
