Bruises is solo output of Nottingham based Robin Hearn, who has been making the rounds with his songwriting partner Liam Arnold as Shelter Point. The duo have a release on Hotflush and a recent feature on The Beat for BBC Introducing...

From his site: "Taking melodic inspiration from the likes of Erik Satie and Claude Debussy and drawing technical influences from Warp Records, Ninja Tune and Hyperdub , Bruises creates an unbridled mix of raw, emotive progressions and clean crisp programming, nestled deeply into a sea of warm sub bass for a sound that is worthy of the biggest systems but can also bury itself deep into your heart. "

Robin has previous releases on Infinite Machine and Project Mooncircle, as well as independently, in a variety of styles from dance to more melancholic instrumental beat works similar to the Shelter Point material. 

The Spirit Quarter ep looks more towards the dancefloor with grime influences at the jump and progressing into house workouts that showcase his taste in melding spacious vintage synthesizers with heavy drums that keep attention grounded to the basement while simultaneously calling upwards towards space.
