I have nights That make me feel 
Like I won’t make it through 	 
As though nothing can be worse 
than feeling sad & blue
I have days that get so dark 
It might as well be night outside 
I might as well be wishing on a star 

I’ve wished on birthday candles 
I’ve hoped to god And prayed	 
I thought my life in shambles
Surprised that I’m ok
When I look   deeper still
I find that something else going on 
I make a wish I might as well

This Hope within my hands 		
Imagine anything you can
I’ve heard the story of the promise land
It’s unrecognizable 
as a wish is to a star
		
Who seduces with the truth
without first a lurid lie?
I stand within this question
inviting you inside
A wish is just another way to say
The stars all twinkle overhead
Not enough to light my way

lights up in the sky
One is    there for each of us
We are standing by
Constellations constantly move overhead

What does a wish reveal?
Do I wish it would remain concealed
or do I hope to light my way
The light takes years to travel here
from A star so far away 

I have nights that make me feel

A shadow indigo
An inky deeper hue
I have days that get so dark

How to leave behind
A pattern that I often find
If you were only in my mind
I wonder if you needed me

the smell of the wind,

Who is my companion

a place for me to stand in

Become a part of humanity

This is a rework of an earlier piece, and a demo of sorts.

Getting closer to a final mix. If you listen near the middle guitar solo there are some military exercises where you can hear gun shots and bird song. Near the end even more subtle is a string part playing “all the young dudes” tune lightly under the vocals!  

I also modified the lyrics to ask: Is the same true instead of stating: the same is true 

I am noting that I feel conflicted about the idea that Freedom is a choice to make in times of conflict and war. I think this is a true statement… and yet also not true at the same time for many in our world.
