the 'Final Frontier' made the scene here
now everyone buys it, people believe in it
pay no mind to their sanity

is that the way it always goes
when there's another major change in the contents
just do not hold on too long
or you could lose yourself in the caverns of time

the major outlets just regurgitate
and at the same time all the blogosphere shows empathy
their worlds turned upside down, the frame works inside out
yet the source has never been revealed

instead of an island there is a new zone
for the over-achievers
the secret ingredient isn't available
any more

These are the tales of a town in deep despair
it's not a nightmare, it is real

Everybody is joyful when the beertruck comes to town
and for a while folks can be nice and kind
the men stop beating up the women
and the kids go back to school

While birds are singing blissful songs
and life seems quite alright until
the beertruck drives away
and everybody is glum again

it's not a nightmare this is real life
with pollutants in the air
and dubious water
so you better get sober
in time to make your escape
