After the first two Earthly Tapes & a handful of EPs, Earthly Measures drops its first full-length album with Mente Organica’s El Espacio - a beautifully crafted album with glorious textures, steady grooves, calming vibes & a dancefloor filler or two.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia – producer & multi-instrumentalist Mente Organica has slowly been making a name for himself within the folktronica/Latin scene. Following multiple album and EP releases over the past few years, El Espacio marks his first release on wax and the music stands out from anything he has done before. These 8 tracks surprise & reward the listener as individual harmonies at first, and finally, as a whole and immersive symphony.

From “Pablo Bebe’, a track he wrote which is inspired & dedicated to his best friend – to ‘Close the Door’, written in the depths of quarantine, reflecting isolation, loneliness & introspection, & ‘Yoga’ - a song written with his father that can be easily heard filling the dancefloor as well as easy bedroom sessions, this album truly does feel like his most personal work yet. ‘Eagle’- an utterly unique track born in Pucon, Chile, after meeting opera singer Katy Prado - blends sensibilities of 60s psychedelic rock vocals with Mente’s signature electronica. ‘Dame Un Segundo’ is the lobby track of the album, with Balearic vibes: chilled, jazzy & floaty. Title track ‘El Espacio’ pays homage to Mente’s influences growing up - think Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation & Air - giving us that Trip Hop vibe. ‘Huanini’ is a real groover - a low-key dance track that evokes that “start of the night” feeling of excitement, with heavy experimentation of granular synths. Finally, rounding the album off with melodies of hope, delight and positivity, ‘Partida’ reminds us that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Guitar, bass, strings and synths are worked into a sort of deconstructed chillout, serene shapes dancing on the wind, elements drifting in and out of focus as Clara Valente pours her silky vocals into the cicada-laden night air.

The single is the first taste of Hammer’s forthcoming album, set to be his seventh LP on Music For Dreams.

“Trembling echoes calling my name / Come and join me for night games.” Danish pop-noir duo Dark- ness Falls serve up a deeply enticing torch song for this, their fourth - and arguably most memorable - single from hugely accomplished sophomore album “Dance And Cry”. On top of the original album track and an instrumental that allows listeners to rev- el in the production’s widescreen cinematic feel, the package boasts remixes from Kasper Bjørke, Shino- bi and an all-new single version.

The latter replaces the lush layers of the original with dancing, picked synths before building to a stirring climax where the seductive, multitracked vocals of Josephine Philip harmonise resoundingly and echo each other.

Kasper Bjørke, the duo’s compatriot, bases the tune around a circling guitar motif and burred slow- mo beat, creating a real sense of tension and dra- ma, while the Shinobi remix by Nexus foregrounds the rich vocals before overwhelming you with a su- per-saturated chorus, a contrapuntal keyboard line and a syncopated, low-slung beat.

Be Svendsen gets set to release the enchanting Twilight in Tankwa on Rebellion following his successful remix of NU’s Man O To on sister label Crosstown Rebels. Remix treatment comes courtesy of Berlin native Nico Stojan. 
 
Twilight in Tankwa is a mystical and musical journey that Be Svendsen explains “is the result of decades long intimate relationship with outdoor rhythmic dance experience. The foundation of the track is rooted in a synth hook from the early 50's. The vocal, inspired by a barbershop quartet, work to give it the character of a true desert hymn."
 
The remix comes from Nico Stojan who twists a fresh melody into the original over driving undertones. Having honed his musical style as resident at the infamous Bar25 in Berlin, he has also released on labels like Highgrade, Connaisseur and Upon You records.
 
Equally alluring, second original track Scarecrow was brought about by AYAWAKE who wrote and recorded the vocals. He generously passed on to Be who honored it as the crown work of his cowboy-tech-tribute to the Ennio Morricone soundtracks of the late 60's. 
Be Svendsen aka Lasse Bruhn Svendsen broke through into the international scene in 2014 with a series of productions and enchanting live performances at some of the most avant garde places to play on the earth, such as BOOM festival, Fusion, Burning Man, Symbiosis, Rainbow Serpent and AfrikaBurn.
