I was nursing gasoline, why is it always so cold?

So we watched St. Elmo's Fire leap from lamppost to post.
Stayed up on a late night drive just to hear Coast to Coast.

But the wind won't blow and it's so cold.

And the sky's just a blur to me like there's Vaseline on the sun.

I smell nuclear Wintergreen, I guess both coasts are toast.
